That depends entirely on what type of mecha you're looking for. Tekkaman is more armored suit than full on giant robot. The storyline was awesome though and had a bunch of crazy shit happen.

It's probably Ryuji Masuda's worst work to be honest. (Unless you count Charady no Joke na Mainichi, which was mostly made by animation students.) Watch Mr. Stain or Popee first, they're much better.
