So this is the storyboarding genius of Takuya Igarashi.
>>148168743
He did episode 7-8 in the first cour. Not sure if he did the new episode.
Mafia mode Dazai is scary
>>148169292
Now I want to rewatch this episode.
>>148170562
Honestly it was what made this episode so good. Mafia dazai is very entertaining.
>>148168743
Well, now at least its clear why don't gave a shit about the mafia running wild through the city. He is as much as asshole as them.
>>148168743
Is this yaoi?
>>148175202
No.
>>148175202
Not at all
>>148172793
Wasn't this shown in the first season?
>>148175202
There are girls in the show and they are cute.
cute loli
>>148175202
>>148175466
>Tfw they won't animate Lucy being deredere towards Atsushi this season
>Tfw they will just shove in more Dazai and Chuuya
>>148168743
Say, there's not much BSD thread on /a/ even though it's quite popular. Is it really that mediocre or what?
>>148169292
You can generally pick out his storyboards by the number of massive illuminated windows in the episodes
>>148178214
Like this? Anyway he did 6-7 not 7-8.
>>148176897
Picked up.
Who here still remembers the cutest girl?
>>148178951
That is not Lucy anon
This is much better without the faggy tiger MC from S1.
The unfunny gimmicks are still annoying as hell though.
Oh shit same injuries when he was training Akutagawa.
Is this episode an original or a light novel adaptation? If it's the latter, the author should just switch to LN format, it suits him better.
>>148177859
Apparently, it is so.
>>148181658
LN like episode 6-7 and yeah the LN stuff is better. Not amazingt but at least it's decent compared to the manga.
>>148178951
She is so fucking adorable
Has Lovecraft shown up yet?
>>148181755
The manga is just a series of events bundled up together, one after another. It's like the author doesn't know how to translate his narration into panels; whereas compared to the light novel, he has a better setup every chapter compared to the manga. He really should've made the whole thing into LN script/draft instead of handing the manga as a source material to Bones. That way, the director would have more freedom with his creative liberties, instead of delivering ass-shots and constant flashbacks.
>>148182193
I never read the LN, does it have better pacing? Is there any dialogue or something that might be important cut when it's transfered to a manga?
The manga has terrible pacing
>>148182193
The author has an artist to draw the manga but it feels like it's written by a different person. In the LN, he seems clear about what he wants to write and the characters have their roles laid out. The manga is so choppy in comparison and many times it's like he forgot what he wrote in the LN.
>>148182408
Do you have a dialogue example anon? That does happen often with LN-manga, but I heard BSD LN is very good whereas the manga is very mediocre.
>>148182398
Some of the LN have been translated or are in the process of being translated. You can easily google them up.
For example one of the LN is about how Dazai joined the agency and today episode is base on another LN about how Dazai left the mafia.
>>148182507
Oh sweet, thanks man, I'll check it out.
>>148168743
Today's episode is pretty cool, so where do you guys think he season would end?Hopefully after the fall of the Guild
>>148182502
I can't' really give a clear example since it's some time since I read the manga and I don't feel like picking it back up. I'm just watching the anime for Bones, VAs and OST.
Let's just say the manga doesn't really follow up on the LN. In the LN the agency solves cases but in the manga they're busy fighting endless battles.
>>148182634
Oh no wonder, I forgot they're a detective agency at times in the manga.
P-please follow the LN too animu
>>148168743
Woah 2nd season starts out good, it's nice not to get reminded of Atsushi getting kicked out and Kyouka killing 35 people for once.
Also this episode actually knows when to be serious without being horribly unfunny like a lot of the 1st cours.
Lovecraft-Steinberg when.
>>148182398
I've read the one they animated in the anime (ep 6-7, as other anon have said) and it's so much fleshed out that it made me doubt that it's the same person who've written the manga; it made me think that the manga is truly a mistake.
>>148182408
He needs to pair-up with another artist, or get good at paneling/storyboarding. The manga lacks plot substance and characterization that the novel has. I hope Bones would animate more of the LN stuff.
>>148182398
The LN is just a couple of side-story chapters that complements the manga. It gives some backstories to flesh-out the characters who doesn't have that much screentime in the manga.
>>148182780
>Oh no wonder, I forgot they're a detective agency at times in the manga.
Yep, I get the feeling that the LNs are what the author really wants to write and perhaps the manga is the result of editor meddling. The LN has so much of Dazai's backstory and more which could have been done manga style. With Atsushi entrance into the agency, the manga could gradually reveal and explore the agency members while they solve cases. It's up to 10 or 11 volumes now and we hardly know shit about some of them as most of the focus is on the many people they have to fight.
>>148182987
Manga gives off the "More battle, teens love that and get more pretty boys, fujoshi is a huge part of the fanbase" type of executive meddling don't you think.
The manga is truly a mistake, it deserves a better adaptation ;_;
I really love this show's aesthetic. The colors in this episode were really pretty. Also, is this whole season gonna be a flashback?
>>148183070
Yep it's pretty sad. I'm not sure if the author knows what he wants to do with the manga's story. There's another LN coming out soon I think, so at least he can still write some of what he wants.
>>148183135
>is this whole season gonna be a flashback?
No, since The Guild members has been confirmed.
>>148183225
cool. I'm interested to see that Fitzgerald guy in action.
>>148183135
No as they've already announced the cast and showed the designs for the other Guild members. I guess this will take two episode like the other LN adaption.
>>148183179
Hopefully the author makes more LN that got fully translated.
There are interesting character like Higuchi, Steinberg, Lucy, Poe, based Melville that can get developed in really interesting ways that will probably get overshadowed in the manga in favour of battles with heaps of new characters.
>>148168743
Will they ever introduce modern authors like GRRM and JK.Rowling or are they only allowed to use names of dead authors.
>>148181852
The main reason to watch.
>>148183518
Reminds me of Kumamiko-miko in the ED shorts.
>>148183518
How many people have she killed again?
>>148183397
And hopefully he don't forget about what he wrote in the LN as the manga progress. It's stupid to expect readers to check out the LN for more when he doesn't match the characterisation and elements from the LN to the manga.
>>148183518
One of the things that bother me the most about anime and manga in general is how in 99% of stores romantic relationships can't happen. I love romances, i think they are great and make almost any story better. It bothers me so much that for example Atsushi will never start dating her (or the HanaKana girl for that matter). The best case scenario is for him to chose one of them when the series ends, and we'll probably never see that animated. Why can't more Japanese authors incorporate relationships in their narratives outside of pure romance-focused series? Why can't we have cool action anime with super powers where the main characters also happen to develop feelings and start dating in parallel to the plot?
What happened at the end of last season? I forgot. Weren't they going to start fighting the dock mafia dudes?
>>148183670
Romantic subplot can be distracting if not written properly. Also honestly the relationship is kept open so that the fandom has something to discuss, making it more alive. Also fujos which a lot of series panders too probably won't like that.
Also on that matter, the series is pretty good at establishing pairings like AtsushiXKyouka and the more recent AtsushiXLucy, if developed properly can be so adorable...like, they are both abused lonely children with mental health issues with matching scars to boot. But I'll doubt they'd go anywhere.
>>148183670
Simple
either fujos would rage, the demographic doesn't get romance, or the author doesn't know how to write romance, also more room for battles
>>148183598
35 and she doesn't want to kill anyone else.
Suwabe can make any show amazing
So uh...
Is this season taking place in the past?
If so I'm really excited for this because the Armed Detective Agency or whatever wasn't all that interesting.
>>148187465
Yes, he seems to have the same injures as in the flashback when he was still training Akutagawa.
This was so much better than pretty much all of S1, but the memes and lolsorandumbxd shit still makes me rage. We get it, you have to give the fujos their daily dose but this thing isn't popular enough to be all about gay shit and jokes.
Holy shit this is so much better than the first season, i just watched the first episode thinking it would be the same shonenshit/bishie/magic like the first season but instead i got jazz/detectives/mafia, i'm pleasantly surprised.
>>148191425
Dark Ages is a prequel. It will probably be 2 episodes then back to the plot
>>148191481
That sucks i wish it would stay like this, no more gay shit.
>>148191602
But a serious plot with no retarded humour is the most gay of all.
>>148168743
Ouran S2 from Igarashi never ;(
shame new ED is not even near the first one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LueQ7i6Hu_Y
>>148182987
The manga is just shit compared to the LN. Such a shame, really.
>>148183135
>is this whole season gonna be a flashback?
Nope, but I wish it were to be.
