If there's even one thing that Digibro guy is completely right about it seems to be this, they've manage to create this streamlined look, feel and sound of "popular anime" ever since SAO that people will eat the fuck up almost every single time over similar or even technically superior stuff by other content producers. A-1 could put out any generic piece of crap and it'll almost invariably be among the most watched, talked about and discussed shows of it's season (even if it's not necessarily positive feedback) and will well after all is said and done, particularly within the Crunchyroll and MAL wings of the Western fandom. I mean there's no particular reason that ERASED especially should have had that ridiculously positive an early reception as it did in the West (it was almost an also ran in it's own native Japan) outside of shilling and people just being borderline brainwashed into blind worship of the studios output as long as it uses simple tactics like Yuki Kajiura soundtracks and Yuuki Aoi casting. Maybe a shitty Aimer or LiSA song here and there too since people seem to lose their minds for them.

There also seems to be a contingent on /a/ now that seems to absolutely love bringing up 1-3 year old A-1 shows and pretending to be interested in what /a/ thinks about them and I'm not sure if it's to shitpost or shill the stuff in anticipation of Western releases by AoA by if nothing else keeping it within the consciousness of dumb anime fans.
