But Maho Girls has some of that. Albeit not enough. Why are you too lazy to find them on your own and in need of a rec thread?

Magical Girls usually were the source of their own magical power. Often magical royalty.

Magical Girls born without magic and need to borrow it from mascots

Half of the girls need to sell their soul or bodyparts to even get some basic magik going on

How do we stop this trend? Who is behind this? I personally blame (((boys)))

Actually Witch Academia specifically scoff at magical girls. Other than the MC, the rest of the witches see Magical Girls as childish portrayal of witchcraft.

Not convinced that's really true. Sally is certainly a magical Princess, but so were Ran and Fine, or Vanilla and Chocolat. Whereas Himitsu no Akko-chan had Akko being granted magical powers, and I think Lunlun did too. I think that has always been the norm.

What's new is the Meguka notion of making it a choice. I can't find that anywhere in the shows for little girls.
