Goes to shit after episode 22, doesn't get really good again til the finale. A couple okay episodes in the island arc but the Africa one is pretty shit.

I didn't find the island and africa arcs cute, funny or endearing compared to the first half. They reset Nadia and Jeans development back to square one over nothing, made Nadia go full bitchmode. It's only reedeming factor IMO was making the red headed bitch develop into a mentor for Nadia and King getting more screentime. Tonally the Africa arc was just really unfitting given how close they were to their goal.

On another note the beginning is a bit slow and when the tower of babel arc it gets really good and stays that way for a couple of eps, then the pace drops again which isn't really problem because by then you've watched enough of these characters to enjoy it, unless you despise how much of a bitch Nadia is which just gets even worse.

Haven't watched anymore a the moment, it's a fun show.

One of my first faps, one of the best ones too.

Series overall was great. Cut most of the island arc out and erase Africa from existence and its perfect. Except for Nadia, other than being built for sex, she's pretty shit.

Overall, could've been a masterpiece like Eva but the studio had to ruin it by going against Anno's wishes.

I really liked it, and the island arc was nowhere clost to as bad as I feared. The first few episodes were pretty good, and the rest also were funny at times. But when mosquito bites became a plot point, I knew I wanted it to end. But it wasn't that bad, we got to see character development and the relationship between Nadia and Jean really came a long way during the episodes.

Could do without the Africa episodes, though. But episode 34 was really, really nice. Have probably had it running for hours due to the unique content.

Well the weird Fist of the north star parody was okay. Royal Space Force was great maybe a bit too convoluted. Corpse princess is a great HoTD alternative, you get hot girls fighting undead without the absolutely glaring fanservice. Appleseed was terrible. Those are the shows I have completed for now, not counting ones I want to re watch (eva, ttgl, dantalian, gunbuster 1 and 2, FLCL)

If I absolutely had to choose it's probably the gunbuster series because it caters to my shounenfag side of ''HARD WORK AND GUTS''

Nadia being a bitch for the first half is fine, she was developing well out of it. Her ignorance of technology, stubbornness on her views and hot & cold reaction to Jean was a good part of her character and she was quickly warming up to him until the island arc where the reset button just gets pushed on her and Jean's relationship out of no where then is stuck going next to no where until the finale. Along with making her fairly abusive to just about everyone. That's the real shitty part about the show IMO.

Her being an abrasive cunt was easy set up and was halfway done but they squandered it once Anno left the show.

I've only seen 15 episodes of E7, but they aren't similar at all. They are both part of the battleship genre, but the characters and feel of the series are so different. And E7 sucks, the main character is so awful. Constantly doing cringeworthy shit that just makes you want to stop watching. In fact, that's why I haven't seen it for weeks. In Nadia too, the characters sometimes did things you didn't agree with, but it was portrayed in a much better way, it didn't make you feel an urgent need to stop watching.

In Nadia, it takes place a long time ago, and it helps that you can tell yourself he was a victim of a bad culture. In Eureka Seven, that doesn't work as well. It's on a completely different level. It may also be caused by Renton acting much more on his own, turning HIM into the shitty person, while Jean interacts with society around him, putting less of the shittiness on him and more on the society and community as a whole. Sorry, it's hard to explain why it is, but they feel very different, and E7 is MUCH worse than Nadia.
