Why is this anime so popular? The characters are as flat as a cardboard and never grow even a single bit - even though they travel around the continent, solving mysteries, fighting large battles and meeting many different people, they are still the same little kids as in episode 1. All the 10/10 reviewers say that they watched the original FMA and this is a masterpiece. I never watched FMA and went straight to FMA:BH.

Envy is generic evil. Then we get a mood whiplash into an emotionally manipulative episode with no substance. Suddenly Envy was a sad moeblob all the time :(
Mustang redeems himself, his arc as sloppy as it was is resolved. Later on has not to kill Envy, the one person he has the most reasons to so his newly resurrected and completely different character arc doesn't end in madness. So he's not blinded by hate and gets to walk off. Just to be blinded two episodes later HAHAHAHA I rate it 9/11
Edward starts tragic, but turns out to be generic protagonist. Series eventually reminds us every 10 episodes he's actually noble for some reason because it mistakes being "noble" is the same as mature, which it promised us in the first few episodes.
I could go on, but Brotherhood is no different than Dragon Ball Z on the character end of things. But it has way less ham so it's shit.
