This scene didn't happen yet since Super is a thing before this tournament exist. Assuming after Super ends it own series and then this epilogue will begin to occur.

No, but I hope it does. For years you have the options of Gohan, Goten or even Trunks to take up Goku's mantle at the end of the series, but Goku decides to pass it to some random little nigglet instead. And he abandons his family again. Terrible ending.

If there's one saving grace for Super, it's that it has the chance to make things right and retcon that abomination of an ending out of existence.
