It was an interesting take on the whole "tech vs magic" thing, but it was ruined by a number of issues such as the writer being a massive Japanese nationalist who did it just to do waifu writing and waxing his carrot at "JAPAN STRONK" fight scenes.

I wouldn't mind it if it had been more along the lines of a Stargate take, having an international team go through. Lose the "I'm a loli demigod" and some of the other stupid bits (make the early assaults actually result in some losses on the Japan/International team so we can grasp that this shit is dangerous) and I could dig it.

The attack on Ginza at the start showed that losses were possible when they were not prepared and caught by surprise. While when they actually were, when they got through the gate, they were pounding them with artillery, entrenched machine gun emplacements and things like helicopter gunships it is no surprise there were no/minimal losses. The not-Romans had no chance to get close and do damage to actually inflict any. It was only when things like the close combat scenes like Kuribayashi taking on whole groups by herself that it really stretched things.

I'm pretty sure it made more sense in the novels. IIRC she was fighting off a handful of goons while Tomita took a bunch of them out with covering fire. And she wasn't rolling around like a spastic monkey either.
