A boy falls in love with anime.

Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to create the darkest, most despairful anime in order to equip the world with the weapons they need to conquer hope once and for all. While the two chase their respective goals, DESPAIR ensues as the boy begins to realize what he's doing and questions the NATURE of ANIME.

Something always seemed... "Off", about Junko. Well, beyond the despair and dismembering. See, she never really seemed too... competent by herself, or even that charismatic. One might say her big "win" was convincing Izuru Kamakura to embrace Despair, but as you probably know from what went down on Jabberwock, that didn't stick.

Yeah, Junko really was just a big old thug who happened upon some mighty powerful people. Beyond Izuru and Class 77, she had the fortune of being born a twin to the Ultimate Soldier, and bumping into an animator who knew how to mindcontrol people.

That dead Chisa-chick, well, she's just one of the many results of THAT little development.

But here's what's REALLY bothering Old Drebin. If you look at Junko's first little killing game, and compare it to the one you went through... oh, and the one you're IN... there's a bit of a discrepancy.

The first game was more of a glorified execution than a "game." The student council was coerced at gunpoint and made to kill each other. There was no real way to "win", other than brute force and dumb luck. It was binary, brutal, and simplistic. Even Tetris and Gala Omega were better balanced.

But you look at the next killing game, and you've got... well, Prisoner's Dilemma, for one. A tenant of "Game Theory." Do you throw your classmates down the sink to escape? Or do you risk one of your competitors offing you in a bid to do the same. It ain't an "execution" anymore - no, this game is legit. A matter of choices... and consequences. And that's the trouble.

Video Game Designer John Carmarck said "A game that's too hard is just as bad as a game that's too easy."

The "evolution" of the killing games show a sudden, abrupt switch, from bad game design to impeccable.

Maybe, somehow, Junko became "friends" with someone who had an intimate knowledge of game design?
