Yes. Because stealing and tricking foreigners is a way for him to draw attention from the big criminal gangs he wants to join (and those are not really comparable to selling drugs).

Giorno in Part 5 is partially defined by the mentality that he'll do whatever it takes to achieve his goal. He even suggests casually killing any civilians that get in their way. So he's stealing from foreigners as a way to get by but mostly so he can continue to build enough of a reputation to attrack criminal organizations (which works).

It's a stupid plan, to be honest. Because Giorno is a bored and desperate 15-year old trying to fight agaisnt a system that he barely even comprehends. The story draws attention to how poorly thought out his plan was through his meetings with Polpo.

It's a matter of taste. Some swear by them, but I'm not a big fan of it personally. Some of the color choices are weird, it takes away from the fun of having no canon color colors and being able to imagine your own in any given scene, and the whole thing feels a little too gaudy for my taste.

On the other hand there was a period around part 5 to early 7 where the action really was kind of difficult to comprehend in black and white.

You mean the basic "this thing is happening and I feel this way about it" ? Because that happens with every single JoJo character too, Giorno included.

Because after he joins the gang nearly all you see of Giorno is him getting into fights and that's where he tries to stay focused most of the time. A big part of his character is that his resolve gives the other characters's strength, which is why he strives to always mantain that image, and that he really is a 15-year old kid who was way over his head. It's the reason why fights such as White Album, Baby Face and Green Day, where Giorno loses his composure, are so important to the character.

And it's not just the face too. Vento Aureo heavily relied on shifts in kana fonts to express tone of voice. The shitty translation of Vento Aureo neglected to incorporate this, which is why a lot of characters come across as flat. Things like Doppio’s drawl, Buccellati’s accent and changes in speech tones, all these were left out. The characterization was heavily text-based. And Giorno is one of the most expressive characters in Vento Aureo. He reacts to tragic/stressful situations very hard (again, White Album and Green Day where he loses his shit), reflecting a lot of Jonathan and Dio's personality when they come up.

I know you're sick of hearing about the translations because it's easy to dislike Vento Aureo based on them but you literally have no business talking about Vento Aureo if your basis for the characters are the English translations.

Part 2 should go uphill and then plummet steadily towards the end of part 3 were it picks back up and steadily increases towards the end of part 4. As for part 5 I'm biased as shit so I got nothing worth saying there. And Part 6 unlike most I think it got better once they got out of jail. So also a steady increase like part 4.

Because while it's "Badly translated", it's still translated well enough for anyone to understand the scene, story, and dialogue.

90% of the entire part is well translated and has been already completed, there are only a few chapters near the end that are missing.

Giorno is based as fuck. To be honest I like every Jojo, but I understand that he's not as well liked since there's a lot of competition. He was always calm and collected and came with very creative ways of using his ability. Also part V is one of the only parts where the protagonist is not overshadowed by a WAY more charismatic villain, it was all in balance. Giorno and Diavolo were perfect opposites. Then again, the story is good, but the delivery is not that great, usually the last act of the manga is god tier in every other part, but felt underwhelming in part V. Diavolo cannot compete against Dio, Kira, Valentine or even Pucci, and that affects Giorno as well.
