Well, it's a stretch but parts 2,3 and 8 (recycled pillar men as the rock humans) feature vampires. The "cream" parts correspond too this.

That being said so does part 1 does not have cream so that might scupper that theory. But in the image the melon pieces(1) are supported by the cream of part 2, (Kars making the stone masks which Dio profits off).

There is probably better analysis of this "Ice cream" being eaten out there.

So I was re-reading some bits of stone ocean, and the relationships between the characters felt really wierd. I started thinking of how Jolyne, Hermes, Weather and Annasui really have very little interaction with each other.
Jolyne and Hermes are supposed to be the bro duo of the part but they have very little interactions or moments outside of battles. Hermes even cries when Weather dies but they didn't even fucking talk. Like ever. The whole Annasui and Jolyne thing doesn't even move further from silly sketches, except towards the end but Anasui doesn't even have time to ask her, so it's left unanswered. Annasui and Weather have some kind of relationship based on comradery or being cell mates or whatever but that too is extremely underxplored. Also the whole Weather rampage turning super sinister for like five minutes, what the hell was that all about.
Man, I really love stone ocean and Annasui is one of my favourite characters, but this really bugs me.
