What's worse is it could've been a hell of a lot better than what we ended up with, everything feels like a complete draft from start to finish and there's not even enough time to care about characters Takahiro kills off too quickly. The entire thing basically felt like an edgy version of Mistborn when you think about it.

i watched the anime that a lot of people apparently liked, but i thought it was boring as fuck. why is it considered good? there's no world building, the characters are forgettable, there's no real satisfying overarching plot that they're trying to achieve, the plot points have no build up to it and the "final fight" was underwhelming as fuck. it's just an all around shitshow.

That series had fun characters, nice comedy, likeable characters and a pretty interesting battle system. The plot was typical and it was only getting worse, but I still have nothing but good memories of it for some odd reason.

Think I got a couple of episodes in before I deleted. Assume it's popular because it's on adult swim or netflix or something. That's generally the case for horrible shows that seem to popular (they have a dub though gais). Ajin last I checked was the only show I actually saw that was on Netflix as well (dubbed I think?) but I watched undubbed already as it was interesting.
