You obviously weren't paying attention if you think the characters had no growth, resolution or change considering Shouya and Shouko go from hating each other to falling in love, from trying to kill themselves to looking forward to the future ect. There was plenty of character development and like I said the story arcs were concluded. Not every story has to have a happy ending where everyone gets over their problems, sorts everything out and lives happily ever after.
