I know who the mastermind is.
It's Nagito Komaeda, who needs to find out whose kind of hope is stronger, Makoto's or Munakata's, so that they can truly rebuild the world. He woke up extra early due to his SHSL luck and took a working helicopter from the military base.

ChisaJunko manipulated Munakata into building the underwater facility for the final killing game, but Hopeman killed her after the first sleep period. Killing his own teacher gave him so much despair it turned into super hope.

I didn't really expect to end up liking Asahina as much as I do at this point during the series. I had pegged her as just a donut memeing side character that probably just moped around getting by thanks to plot armor.

Instead she's been supportive, proactive and useful throughout.

I have the feeling though, that, barring some shit like her being a mindwarped Chisa/Junko, or Kirigiri being alive (possible but that bottle may have been a red herring), she probably realizes that her chance has come and she tries to jump Naegi's bones.

Even if she were the attacker, as long as she wasn't being mind controlled or some shit, and was doing it for some good reason, Naegi would probably still forgive her. It might well be that she took over the attacker's role and killed Chisa, who had been despairified, then Gozu, who might not have been as much of a bro as we were led to believe, Seiko, who had appeared to be threatening her and Naegi, and then Ruruka, who was a traitorous bitch who'd even kill her own boyfriend just because he -might- betray her later. If you consider the victims, 'protecting Naegi' could be rationalized as the motive for each of them.

Why she doesn't kill Munakata is anyone's guess, but she's probably being prevented from doing so. The attacker has a time limit too, so that might be an issue if she can't find him. Many of the victims appear to have been awake when they were killed, so the mastermind might be waking them up so they can fight back, which would make Munakata dangerous.
