Probably already been discussions on this but would Bonney be a natural counter to Big Mom's fruit? Like when Bonney de-ages someone, do they gain "life"? Conversely, does Bonney take away life if she ages someone up? Can her fruit effect be permanent in that they won't change back to their natural state if she doesn't want them to?

Like take this scenario: Big Mom takes away 40 years from a guy who was already 30. Not enough to kill him because he would've naturally lived to 80, but he's now going to die in 10 years. Bonney then de-ages him to an infant and he doesn't change back. Did this guy just have Big Mom's power on him cancelled out or would he now live his life again until he reaches 10 and die?

I guess we don't know enough about either fruit to say, so it's really more of a fun thought experience.

We don't know if Big Mom actually removes years on some predestined magical ticking clock or if the real effect is just that you're biologically aged by how much soul she pulls out of you. The latter makes more sense scientifically, but it's unlikely a character would ever explain it as such, even if it were true.

Even though Luffy always gets help in his fights, I think you gotta' accept that whenever he beats someone, regardless of how he does it, he's now at least of that level thanks to the experience. I feel like bringing Crocodile back into the story was a mistake. He was already perfect back in Alabasta and during the Baroque Works cover story. He was sort of cool in Impel Down and Marineford, but he didn't really add much to the story. I'm not really sure what Oda's plan for him is, but so far it looks like there's got a lot to risk and very little to gain.

Oda wanted them to all have a similar make-up, but he also wanted Urouge to beat one, so he tacked on the "4 Sweet Commander" thing, so he can have his cake and eat it, too. You should use your brain sometime, this is a children's comic book, sempai.

The person Urouge beat was strong enough to potentially be considered in the same league as Cracker. Getting beaten up seems to have changed Mama's mind. They're weaker, but not substantially; if it were substantial, the mistake would not have been made to begin with. This is very similar to how people rank the Supernovas. They're all "about the same strength" but they're not even. If only we could have someone from one group beat the weakest of the other group, then have the strongest of that one group take on someone else from the other group... Damn, it'd be so simple if that happened!

In battle shounen, a win is a win. Your power is not just brute strength, it's also your intelligence, your senses, your speed, it is everything. Absolutely everything. Having such an easily exploitable weakness is part of that. Cracker hating pain is PART of his "power level." Luffy's win won't be "not fair" or something just because Cracker dislikes pain. I like how guns in One Piece don't need to be reloaded and are just infinitely semi-automatic. Oda glossed over it an SBS by saying the guns in their universe just work that way. It's the little things.

Now here's the real question: can you infuse Haki into bullets? A few threads ago we argued endlessly about how haki is infused into things. One thing we all agreed on is that the chicks from Amazon Lily were able to infuse haki into their arrows, because they were holding the bow (making physical contact with it). Doesn't it then also make sense that you could infuse Haki into a bullet, because you're holding the gun?

This is important, and it has big implications for how strong Ben Beckmann is too.

It lost its purpose after haki was imlemented. Even Vergo, who used it a lot against the weaker marines didn't use it on Law or Smoker. In a serious fight against a decent haki user, it'd just end up breaking his fingers. Luffy would be fine after that, since his fingers can't break, but he still couldn't do anything wtih it.
It's only good against scubs, and they can already be taken out by the thousands using conqueror's haki.

lmao im guilty of the color spread thing. i dont consider myself a shipper, but i was saying that it was possible sanji and nami could have a more intimate relationship because of the way they were always interacting in the color spreads. now that i think about it, sanji is a willing servant to nami and it probably means nothing. plus, if sanji and nami became a thing anytime during the meat of the manga, it would ruin it for me. if it happens at the end, i couldnt care less.
