Mirai Nikki is weird because most of the world seems to know it's godawful except for apparently MAL who worship at the alter of the series. Why does everyone has problems with her character? She was fine. Quiet, charming, determined when needed, sometimes insecure. Shu was a brave kid but the Lost Christmas event made him retreat into himself and become the beta Shu we see in the first part of the show. Then he starts building up his determination and guts again, enough for people to start relying on him. At least till the incident that breaks him and turns him into Shuhrer, but that experience helps him in the end become the final 'savior' character.

All in all it was a good development, just the beta phase was so cringeworthy it overshadows everything else whenever you think of him.

And yet he's a complete faggot when he doesn't do that. How's he so physically brave and socially wussy? (Actually, Argo punches him out so he's kind of weak there too, but it makes his Void acrobatics and sword-wielding skills all the more jarring.)

Like, in the game, Scrooge radiated strength. Everything about him was masculine, and he fucked people up like it ain't no thang.

Most scenes like that in the early episodes look like for a moment he loses his mind to the Void genome and power, does his cool moves and then wakes up to the beta self again. I have no other explanation than staff deciding it would look cool. Even his eyes turn more red like he is possessed in his 'King mode'

And Scrooge is just a badass who gets a cool way to kill people.

I assumed that was the real aspect of Inori's sword. Lots of other people had weapons for voids, but Inori had the weapon that made you awesome, that made you as amazing as she could see you be.
