What's your favorite underrated series /a/?
Gash bell had a hard life
>Got a shitty anime adaption that didn't even cover the last arc of the manga
> The localization was utter trash and completely santized the series,
> The Mangaka had to get into a legal dispute over the original pages he made and more or less got blacklisted from it.
>if people remember it at all, they go "Isn't that a super kiddie pokemon ripoff?"
It deserved better
>it's so underrated nobody wants to talk about it or even mention their favorite underrated series's
welp

but the mangakan's next manga is so bizarre that it puts araki to tears
Does Tsugumomo count as underrated? It has a dedicated fan base here but controversial in most other places. Hamada is great.
If it doesn't count, then I'll say anything by Abe Youichi, he's really great as well. I really wanna commission both someday
Can you really call a manga with two movies and an over 100 episode anime adaptation underrated?
The anime is not even that bad. The only bad part is some of the fillers.

Considering that it hasn't gotten any new content for it in a very long time, there's rarely any discussion for it, and most people's memory of it is "that shitty pokemon ripoff", i'd say yes.
>The anime is not even that bad. The only bad part is some of the fillers.
Perhaps not in a vacuum, but when the manga has art as good as it does and the anime's art ranges from bad to meh, i'd say it's pretty bad.
I'd argue that part of it is actually worse then the fact it skips the last 70 chapters of the manga,

Also, the anime is also pretty sanitized. It's not as utterly kidified as the localization itself was, but even the original anime in japanese is toned down from the manga.
Scenes like this are way toned down in it
>>146766144
>Tsugumomo
No.
>>146765314
>Gash Bell
Fuck no.
>>146766682
>two series that almost never get disscussed here
>not underrated
>>146766732
they are probably discussed to death back in 2005
>>146766144
>Tsugumomo
But that's just ecchi trash, and yes I've read it. It does nothing new, or good.
You people just like it because hot girls

Perhaps, but how many people on /a/ now where here a decade ago?
Cry newfags all you want, but it's been 11 tyears. Most of the people on /a/ only know the series from when it was localized on TV and they were underaged then.
Toriko is underrated at least here on /a/. I bet many didn't even read it because they got so butthurt about Jump's shilling.
I am not saying that it's some kind of masterpiece but it sure is fun as fuck.
OP here, I think I might actually start to dump the series later today. at like 3pm EST
Another anon was dumping saint seiya, but he's posting the final volume today, so it'd sort of be a continuation of that
>>146767825
who's that black guy
>>146767825
Eh, I feel the same way about it. It's above your average shonen just for the fun it brings on the table. It dropped the ball pretty hard after the Monkey King, though.
>>146766144
I don't Tsugumomo is underrated.
My choice would be Getsurin Ni Kiri Saku and maybe Hakaijuu.
>>146768314
>Getsurin Ni Kiri Saku
I don't feel like the little red riding hood character suffered enough. She's so much a siscon so many people suffers, and her final punishment is being absorbed.
also I don't know why I expect a happy ending between the main girl and wolf guy
>>146765314
Tokyo Ravens. Okay, I admit the anime could have been better, but it deserves more love.
>>146765314
Shigurui
The ending is pathetically poetic.
>>146768789
>Shigurui
>Underrated
What. I picked it up after all the wanking about it I heard here.
>>146768789
I wish the Shigurui mangaka to do something similar but instead he does a weird future Kamen Rider.
>>146768842
Really? In 3 years I saw like 1 thread just mentioning it...
>>146767486
>and yes I've read it
No, you really haven't. atleast up to chapter 25
Change 123
>>146766032
>tfw only 5 chapters
