In the last four chapters, 99% were they drawing plans, 1% was comic relief with the girl. When she thought about Mama in chapter 5 I thought "finally something more intimate", but no, it was, again, aiming the investigation.

I like the child geniuses approach. It's not like it's unheard of in reality, and the setting supports it pretty well -- the farms are specifically made for gifted children to grow. How the FUCK are they going to get around this shit? i mean if they get some free time somehow they can finally see what's beyond the wall and shit but what if the whole farm is high up and beyond the walls is just a huge fall all around and the only way to get out is through the gate that has a narrow slope going up towards the mountain like farm? if the farm isnt on top of a huge place like that then it could only be out in the open and forest is just beyond the wall but that shit would mean that all they need to do is get rid of the trackers and run for it and that would be just too easy of an objective. this is so fucking confusing.

I remember reading about this kind of shit when i was 13, something about a science book was telling me that in order to have electromagnetic waves reach vertain devices there needed to be this and that or another and another time i also had to read a piece about transmitters to the class back in grade 9 which i did a lot of research in and turns out that back in 2002 the current year of my research we couldn't make one's that could last more than 12 months let alone small enough to slip into your body. or maybe i was just a retarded kid who did a limited amount of research in order to get a passing mark.

I don't really understand some people here. I think they read a lot of bad manga and are traumatized because whenever less convenient ways are suggested, they automatically cogitate that the worst will happen. You can not suggest more drama because they think it will turn soap opera. You can not suggest only one character to be smart, because they think it will be the stereotypical genius. You can not suggest risks because they think that the manga would end in the first chapter.

Well, if the only goal is to be a logical game, great. But if it is to be a "survival" drama about children trying to save their friends in a cruel place, it is not working. The only thing we know about the characters so far is that they are good thinkers. They lack life.

I'll follow it for a bit more, but I'll probably drop it eventually. None of the characters interest me, except Mother I guess. The three protagonists in particular seem to be standard cardboard cut-out shounen personalities. The setting might save it, but I doubt it'll end up being a compelling character-driven story.
