It's not because it's enough or not, but the season finale depends on how fast they animate the stagiaire. Everybody agrees that if they end it at the leaf viewing there's a decent chance of S3. And since leaf viewing is at chapter 118, they either needs to adapt stagiaire super fast or they need to skip some parts. There's a reason we got this page and that the chapter where they both presented their dishes was called "Two faces". Souma's cooking has started to represent him and not his father.

The way he used chestnuts or whatever against Eishi was to show that it was a French dish that only Soma could make. It didn't really come up that way vs Kuga, his fight with Eizan was to prove a point as much as anything, and for Eishi the woody flavour of the chestnuts would make sense as a way to compliment something like venison.

The fight with Pajeet is what's more or less going to decide for me if they want Soma to make definitive progress as a chef, depending on how they do it. I think it'll be fine, though.
