Which one?

I prefer K-On but Chitanda is love.
Why, are they similar at all? I just watched Hyouka and even though I liked it it ended quite abruptly.
Everyone with a shred of taste knows that KyoAni plateaued with K-On.
Hyouka because I'm rather fond of things like plot and theme.

K-ON! has more plot than Hyouka, and a stronger theme as well.

Yes I don't doubt you've headcanoned up some wonderfully complex theme despite the inane content.

I am Hyouka fan, and discriminated against K-On for long while - but recently rewatched BD rips and recognized how huge of a work it was.
However K-On still loses, because its too long and S2 exists. Impression of its great moments is too watered down by pace and weaker episodes. K-On starts great, but then becomes routine.
Meanwhile Hyouka is near perfect with nothing really to complain except maybe ending.
Atm i`d rank
Hyouka > Haruhi S1 > Haruhi S2 > K-ON S1 > Hibike Euphonium S1 > K-On S2 > Amagi > Tamako Market = Phantom World

Forgot Chu2, its somewhere on Amagi level also great at points.
Nichijou is in its own league.
Hmm, Let's see. They're both made by KyoAni, and what is KyoAni's magnum opus?
That's right. It's Hyouka.

You mean Violet Evergarden?
I watched just 4 episodes of Hyouka a couple of years ago, and I don't even remember why I stopped.
I should probably pick it back up.

K-On season 2 made K-On season 1 look like garbage in comparison.

K-On S2 >>>>>> S1
Why not both?
