Was this the worst shounen ending of all time?

I honestly can't remember anything as bad as Bleach's ending. Even Naruto had some decent closure.

I simply can't understand why Kubo decided to go for such an unsatisfying ending after he did a pretty good job with Mugetsu and Aizen being a hysterical bitch.

I don't know if it was worse than things like Kagami no Kuni or Cage of Eden, but I don't know if it was better either. So I don't think I'd be confident saying it was THE worst shounen ending, but I'd definitely feel comfortable saying that it was one of them. In the top five shittest endings, for sure.

Looking back on it now, I think the things that pissed me off the absolute most were: nothing about the Soul King being explained, and Ichigo's new swords amounting to fucking nothing. And then of course there's the mountain of somewhat lesser annoyances, like Nel doing nothing, Halibel being forgotten, the Dads doing nothing, not even bothering to check back in with Urahara...fuck I keep adding things to this list as I'm typing it.

The only good thing about the ending was the pairings, and the surviving captains. Seeing Chad being a boxer though is in character, and surprised speed readers seem to missed the point of why he did not throw a punch in ANGER or AGGRESSION again. Not because he was a pacifist.

All he had to do was one captain fight with one sternritter so we can see all their bankais then progress the story in the most simplest obvious way and it would be more of a satisfying ending. Because at that point people only read it because of the characters and what their fucking bankais were.

Chad's entire character was that he miss used the strength he was born with by hurting people who made fun of him

He made a promise to his grandpa to NEVER misuse his powers again
Unless he is boxing for charity like donating the money me earns to a church or orphanage then he is miss using his strength since he could've been a firefighter, police officer or a youth couch

Pairing ends are only acceptable when sufficient development for them has been done. Kubo relied too heavily on cheap romance for this to be considered sufficient which consequently leaves us with such a cheap feeling ending. Devoting most of this chapter to the kids and shafting all the other character just made this feel even more tacky and hollow. Nothing about this ending felt right.

I respect Kubo for not pushing more powerlevels and asspulls. Ichigo was at his strongest when he fought Aizen and did he not go beyond that even towards the end.
The fact that Ichigo was weakened and injured to the point of being half dead according to Yhwach during his final fight is not something I would've expected from Kubo.

You'd have thought that, after the relatively good and enjoyable soul society and heuco mundo arcs Bleach would've been a decent shounen series. But then. We get Aizen's asspullorama, which came to a close with the pretty underwhelming final getsuga which I don't even...
And then. It's the most pointless arc I've ever seen with the fullbrings, followed by the quincy shit which is every single bad thing about shounen manga that has ever been compiled with the crowning jewel of an axed series ending which may go down in history as the shittiest closing a long running series has had.

It had to be a troll, there's no way he could have been serious. I'm 100% sure this was a massive fuck you to somebody and every fan of bleach ever just got caught up by it.
