First claw arc this monday.
>no full body Mob pillow that you could snuggle
I'm so jealous of Ritsu in this pic and I'm not even joking.
Will anything in this next arc be as good as Episode 5 again? Really liked that episode the most, will those episodes have that emotional pull. It seems the next arc is more on the generic side.
It's kind of like OPM, but OPM is about ennui while MOB is about isolation. However, I think that the anime gets the theme better for this while OPM ended up being a lot more fighting-oriented. There's also the issue that the anime only adapted the first part of OPM, before ONE was really coming into his own.
>The scar arc was underwhelming until
I want a Mob daki. I want Mob to have a Reigen daki.
It should start from the end of chapter 34, I thought they were going to end it on chapter 37 but it seems like it wouldn't be enough content, plus given what they've posted on twitter I assume episode will end somewhere in chapter 40 (?)
Who would have thought that this arc would be that popular now, i remember people getting really mad at reigen, when that arc began but i guess the final exchange Mob and reigen had made up for everything. Also one of my favourite arcs. They anncounced the anime adaption with that arc, so here is me hoping it will be adapted at some point.
Well, he WAS kind of an ass at the beginning of the arc, but we all know what happened afterwards. Besides, you can't be too mad at him after you realize how much
Mob supposedly not caring about himwrecks him.
Seriously? I just remembered that I fucking cried when Reigen realized that he have no real friends and fucked up really bad. For me this arc was the best from the start to finish.
Well, the arc starts with Reigen suddenly calling Mob when he's hanging out with his friends, and when Mob protests Reigen says that
his friends are just using him and that he should dump them and just work for him, which is a pretty shitty thing to say to someone like Mob. To be fair, Reigen probably WAS concerned for Mob, but with the wording he used it just came across as selfish.
It is the best arc, Reigen's fuck up notwithstanding.
That was when the chapters came out weekly, people didnt know where it was going and lost faith in Reigen and ONE. Especially cause the Mogami arc was that amazing, so the contrast was harsh at first. Then it turned out to be amazing and everyone praised it again. Was quite amusing.
I can't give you that but have this intead
That seemed totally OoC for Reigen. He had been looking out for mob and growing his trust in people and such. I hated that entire scene and arc.
I think you've got it backward, it's supposed to be "if everyone is not special, maybe you can be what you want to be"
Wasnt really out of character, Reigen was just selfish and unaware of the bond Mob had built with his new found friends. If Reigen had said that at the beginning of the manga, we wouldnt have even thought about it, mob neither. So its more of a testament to the Character development Mob went through over the course of the series up to this point.
>ed out on hikari
>it's just the ed, no bonuses
is there a download with the english version and other tracks?
Doesn't that happen before the Mogami arc though? Dimple isn't ever actually shown getting rid of it, I just assume he did because Reigen isn't shown with it anymore and it couldn't have been Mob.
But yes, re-read it anyway.
Speaking of which, did Murata or Bones do it better?
Only if BONES adds a scene where he literally sucks a cock maybe
>Quick sketch by Murata to show his appreciation towards ONE that everyone seems to shit on because muh Genos, muh doesn't look the way I wanted, and muh Murata ruins everything
>The studio that put time and effort into making Reigen the exact way he looked in the manga
Bones version looks better, but Murata's version isn't bad at all for a quick sketch
I'd love to see colored fanart of Mob Psycho by Murata.
Never said it was bad. It's just that BONES are doing an excellent job at respecting ONE's style, giving them quirks (hand movements...) and bringing their personalities to life. I really like Murata's version, but then I look at BONES' and I'm like 'THAT'S Reigen'
Why did they give him a fat ass in Mob's memory of the fight, and then made him have a flat ass here >>146693089 ?
Where's the versions of this with mob and with reigen?
what if tome turns out to be an amnesiac alien who was just trying to get back home
The lack of best girl (pic related) cannot be tolerated.
>If you can notice your not alone
>Maybe you will find your own answer
What's your answer?
Reread the whole Reigen Arc, neither Mob nor Dimple get rid of the curse, maybe ONE stopped drawing it and it'll be back one day
right in the middle of the Psycho Helmet Cult arc climax and Mob get to choose between Reigen and Dimple
Reigen sexy exorcise voice made me gay.
It's because Mob is best girl, obviously.
Glad you like her.
I'm not very good with muscles anon but what are you looking for?
I've been trying to do the Teru/Mob picture off and on for a while now and think I'm going to have to come back to it.
I've drawn and redrawn it multiple times. This is the one out them that I thought looked OK/cute. I'll come back to it.Warning, censored but lewd.
I'm not gay or anything, but when I looked at that picture, my face got really hot and I felt butterflies in my stomach. This is how the descent into homosexuality starts, isn't it?
Does anyone else get early Yu Yu Hakusho vibes from this anime? Its been pretty great so far and turning into my AOTS
It's just a play on the whole wife asking the husband "What do you want first, a bath, dinner or me?" thing.
Which in turns implies they are all someone's personal home harem, so
all of them are slutsin that picture.
As an animeonly, let me ask something. It doesn't turn into generic battle shounen, right? ONE feels like a writer who wouldn't just go standard and boring.
Also, have you longtime readers been enjoying the anime? I've very much enjoyed the contrast between ONE's shitty art and the excellent animation from Bones. Makes it really visually interesting to look at.
There is an arc that feels a bit battle shonen-y during its second half, but there's also another arc that has no fighting whatsoever. So don't worry about it.
As for your second question, personally I think it's pretty much a perfect adaptation of the manga in pretty much every way. The manga is still worth reading for the omakes and just to see ONE's paneling and composition in general, but the anime is almost flawless.
I don't know if this has been been brought up before, but I found about this panel discussion held by Urasunday which ONE took part in. I'll post it in case someone's interested. It was held at Manga Salon "Trigger", Shibuya, in July 31st, 2015, just before vol.10 of Mob Psycho came out. The participants were ONE, Ise Tomoka (Who had just finished "Choueki 339nen (339 years' Penal Servitude)" and graduated college that year), and the editor-in-chief Ishibashi Kazuaki.
Link to NicoNico Douga. WARNING: Needs niconico points to watch.
And this wonderful guy wrote a summary of the panel. It's in japanese, but the page also has several images of ONE sensei talking and laughing. From left to right; Kobayashi Takuma (moderator), Ise, ONE, and Ishibashi.
I'll dump a summary of the summary just in case. So sorry it's very long.
I enjoy the anime, the direction is really good.
The arch just before the current manga one was a very dragged and boring one. Mob even had a fight with at least four emotions.
But it seems like the old writing style is back for the last arch.
>Ishibashi explains about MangaOne app. Being asked what manga they'd like to read if it's available in the app, ONE says "Kyou kara Ore wa!", and Ise says "Maison Ikkoku".
>Ise talks about the new serialization he's going to start. (note: It's currently ongoing under the title "Gouka no Kyouten") He shows the audience his drafts. ONE asks if Ise always do such detailed drafts. Ise explains as he's just starting a new series, he made them more detailed than usual. ONE says his drafts are so plain that the buildings look like tofu.
>They move on to promote the 4th and final volume of "Choueki 339nen". HOWEVER, as Kobayashi began to talk about the work and how good it is, Ishibashi takes out the newly printed Mob Psycho vol.10. The whole audience gets distracted. Ise is so sad; "I see, everyone prefer ONE-san, after all."
>The audience is asked whether they are reading Urasunday, etc. Everyone raised their hands when they're asked if they are ONE-sensei's fan. Ishibashi soothes grumpy Ise-sensei.
About the comic artists' income.
>Ishibashi "I don't know the other half of ONE-sensei's income, you see."
>Kobayashi "How many Tokyo Domes (baseball stadium) will we need to store all your earnings, ONE-sensei?"
>Kobayashi "How many Seibu Domes, then?"
>Ishibashi "Let's stop (lol). We can assume his income is so large that the sum will startle us."
>ONE "Not THAT large."
>Kobayashi "Anyway, hearing about your success is wonderful."
>Kobayashi goes on telling ONE that it'll inspire the future comic artists, but ONE wouldn't reveal his income. Ise in turn says his earns enough to enjoy some luxuries.
How they come up with ideas for their stories and characters:
>ONE creates his protagonists first, and thinks up the plots next. He decides at the very start how to end the stories.
>He came up with Reigen-prototype when he was working on a manga to send to a competition. This work was never finshed, but he wanted to use the character one day. He decided that the manga he was going to serialize at Urasunday would be a story about a character who's not tough like Saitama, but has problems like a mid-schooler and struggles on with life, sometimes making mistakes on the way. Reigen would appear as a character who bullshits and influence this protagonist. This is how Mob was born.
>Mob Psycho Is heading toward a different direction as initially planned.
>ONE "My first plan for the ending was...Oh, do you think I shouldn't tell?"
>Ishibashi "(whispering) The ending where there'll be this explosion..."
>ONE "Yeah, that one. Well, I shouldn't"
>ONE planned to have first "Mob explosion" happen only after many number of chapters, but Ishibashi told him to make it happen in the first volume.
>ONE comes up with ideas when he's vacantly staring at the news on TV He jots them down. For example; Ornithoptera alexandrae (name of a large butterfly), "Are you alright? Your face looks like a goblin shark's." Ise sometimes gets ideas when he is trash talking someone.
Comic artists and Urasunday
>Ishibashi had been familiar with web comics since around 2001, before they became a norm.
>He was a newbie at the publishing company worked for, and wasn't given any work for manga. So he approached the most popular artists in the web comic community and asked around if they'd like to publish their works. He visited ONE who was then living in Saitama Prefecture.
>He was shocked when ONE decided to leave off drawing manga to work. When he approached ONE again, serialization of OPM had been already decided on by another publisher.
>Ishibashi and three other members, all lovers of web comics (by ONE, Ishida Sui, Sandrovich Yabako etc.) launched Urasunday in 2012. In the beggining, many readers visited via ONE's website. Ise was one of them.
>As Urasunday is still a small-scale magazine, the artists interact often and tend to be really friendly with each other.
What do "the readers" mean to the artists:
>For ONE, their existence gives him strength to keep on working. He was thrilled when he first received comments for his manga he uploaded on his website. When he started working for commercial magazines, he recieved fan-letters written on paper. They made him realize there are people out there who take time and effort to do such things for him. He's grateful.
What's the difference between an amateur and a professional?
>Ishida "None. That's the thought behind Urasunday and MangaOne"
>ONE "I agree. There seems to be no difference between the works of an amateur and a pro."
>Ishida "Let me say one thing. A pro meets his deadline, an amateur doesn't."
>Ise "Beside what's already being said by others, I'd say a pro gets paid for his works."
End of summary. thx for reading.
Good read, thanks man. Nice to see ONE is doing pretty well for himself, makes me happy, and Urasunday seems like a really nice environment to work for.
Interesting stuff, thanks anon.
>He came up with Reigen-prototype when he was working on a manga to send to a competition. This work was never finshed, but he wanted to use the character one day.
I wonder what it was about, it's hard to think of Reigen's character without Mob.
Tsubomi > everyone else
Please delete this. My waifu is pure.
They're friends, no weird ulterior motives of course.
This simply isn't true. Lets look at the other girls.
Emi is a peer pressured bitch that dates a guy on a dare.
Bullychan is scum for obvious reasons.
Then they both become outright better people by interacting with Mob.
Now look at Tome and Mezato. Both girls are primarily interested in Mob because of his powers and the connection to their goals. Tome has no ambition, so is chill as fuck and terrible at being manipulative (queue peace sign pose). Mezato has lots of ambition, and is ready to exploit Mob for her 15 minutes of journalist fame whether he wants it not.
Their arcs aren't done yet, but we can already see where Mob is the better
girl. His drive for self-improvement but also his respect for other people.
Which girl inspired Mob to get /fit/ and work on his social skills? In other words, which girl makes Mob a better person instead of dragging him down?
Tsubomi. Ergo Tsubomi is best girl. Tsubomi wants absolutely nothing from Mob, and doesn't even give a shit about his powers. Notice how this is similar to Reigen and Body Improvement Bros treating Mob like any other kid, this is how Mob likes to be seen. Tsubomi will drag Mob out of his shell, not give him a bad case of butt chin.
Clairvoyance girl digs edgy fucks like Ritsu, so she'll probably go for him.
He wanted to see Ritsu in a dress so he'd have a reference for the BL doujins he draws in his spare time.
It wouldn't work on Teru because what he once wanted was to be the main character and he would be uncomfortable with that now.
I'm still thinking that dimple is actually being manipulated/fucked up by the divine tree.
>If it weren't for Tsubomi he would never met Reigen
This is wrong you retard. the reason why Mob met Reigen was because after that incident where he injured Ritsu, he was scared of his powers and went to Reigen seeking help. Tsubomi is just one reason why Mob didn't want to use his powers before ONE retconned Mob's backstory to give him a more serious reason to not use his powers. Re-read the manga, particularly Reigen's arc.
Bullshit aside, Tsubomi's only purpose is to motivate Mob to join the Body Improvement Club which kick starts the plot and Mob's character development. But she doesn't actually care about Mob and I don't care enough about her to give a shit anyways. Tsubomi, is just a plot device like every other girl except for the eccentric T
eruwho at least interacts with Mob for more than a few seconds every 50 chapters.
here's the post again
an anon mentioned in a previous thread that what if
dimple traps teru in a world like mogami did with mob?but what if instead he traps him in a world that gives him everything he wants? would he be able to scape?
I hope dimple is being manipulated too, I am too attached to him now
I think he just is hurt about what mob told him
Don't fool yourself too much, ONE is definitely a shounen manga writer. So yes it will have a few battle-centric stories. The other non-action-focused arcs, however, are so fucking good that even if you don't enjoy the battle centered parts it's still very worth a read.
So Dimple got pissed at what Mob said and wanted to use the broccoli to mess up the city a little bit, but then he couldn't stop because the broccoli is sentient and mind controlling him as well?
Nothing wrong with feeling things for healthy
I don't want to believe that Dimple isn't in full control of the broccoli because it makes the villain underwhelming. Dimple is a character we've already been with for a long time so knowing that he could've been Mob's friend but decided against that and stuck to his original goal makes it really emotionally engaging. But I don't think the Dimple now is like the Dimple in the beginning. He's clearly been with Mob enough that his opinions should've changed and he might have a different reason for playing god. Maybe he learned the importance of love and friendship and he's just confused and doesn't know how to deal with his new emotions.
>the reason why Mob met Reigen was because after that incident where he injured Ritsu, he was scared of his powers and went to Reigen seeking help.
Anon, that's sounds more like you trying to justify your headcanon to make Tsubomi more irrelevant than she already is.
All good things must come to an end someday.
Very weak bait.
Tsubomi just broke his innocent confidence; bashing Ritsu and the thugs into a wall was what drove him to seek a way to control his power.
This guy >>146704749 is right. Go read it again, without rushing through it.
I'm more bothered by the fact that he had a six pack in the manga but looked kind of chubby in the anime.
But he's not supposed to be soft. He's supposed to be ripped as fuck.
You can blame me, I deserve it I'm sure.
A bit of self indulgence here. If Mob had forgotten his cell at home how would he have payed Vase oneesan off?
I've wanted some /ss/ since this scene and haven't found any so here is a re-draw with what could have happened./ss/ that is lewd and uncensored. You've been warned.
Ah, let me think on it. I'll do my best to get some muscles in the threads.
Glad you like it.
Oh, I would love to do that. I'm super stoked to start working on it.
It's kind of surprising how there's so much Mob/Reigen fan art and fanfiction when there's the whole age difference issue. Don't get me wrong, I know things like that never stopped a fujo, but when I joined the fanbase I expected there would be more shipping material for MobxTeru and especially RitsuxShou.
>Ise is so sad; "I see, everyone prefer ONE-san, after all."
me too, it's a shame. mobxteru has started getting a bit more popular since the anime though, ritsuxshou is still underdeveloped and also shou doesn't show up that often so i don't see it increasing in popularity for a while
There seem to be many indications that ONE wants to end the manga at chapter 100, but that doesn't feel right to me for some reason.
>there are many characters that are still underdeveloped and that still have things to do.
>there are many plot points that need to be explained, mainly ???%. Also, the Claw organization opened the doors to the world of psychics even outside of Japan. And while I'm glad ONE's not doing something a la Charlotte or even presenting the typical "espers vs humans" conflict, I still feel like something's lacking in terms of world building. I wonder if he'll ever explain where psychic powers come from (why is Mob so strong? why did Koyama comment that esper siblings are rare?)
>many people talk about how ONE seems to be much more focused on Mob Psycho 100 lately as his main work. That could just mean that he's focused on it because he wants it to have a good ending, or maybe he just wants to keep it going for a while.
Or maybe it's just me being delusional because I don't want it to end already
BONES need to deliver in this scene.
Fuck the shonenkids
It's pretty bizarre
that he doesn't die. Or even worse, how bully-chan's father didn't die during Mogami arc. ONE seems to have a problem with killing off characters. The only instance this made me happy was regarding Mob's family. On another note, I don't remember if the scene where ONE says he forgot about the telepathy brothers was from the 7th branch arc but if it was and BONES actually adapts it I'll love them forever
I used to think that out of all the character he created, ONE looks most like Zombieman. However, he seems to be rather bigger than the people around him, and seeing his posture, I think he looks more like Serizawa.
You always know what to say to make me feel better, anon.
The characterization of the FMA main cast are pretty mediocre, they behave like stereotypes and don't undergo any development. The humor is shoehorned in at bad timings, similar to the OPM animation.
Story is solid, I give you that.
natto disu shitto agen
I guess it really can't be helped.
Half of me thinks there's no way he can possibly live up to the hype, but the other half thinks Bones HAS to know he's kind of a big deal with the fujos and will try their best to deliver.
Yeah man, that's the same thought process I have. I'm half expecting him to be handsome as hell after what they've done with Reigen, and half expecting him to just not live up to the hype.
Either way I expect Otsuka to do a good job.
Reigen is inherently handsome, he could be shoving his mouth with food and you'll all find that arousing. That random security guard is just random fodder that noone cares about except for the fujos who have lost their minds.
>Reigen is inherently handsome, he could be shoving his mouth with food and you'll all find that arousing
Okay, but his looks aside, the way those scenes are shot and framed are clearly pandering to the female audience. And that's fine, it's not like the quality of the anime is suffering for it.
They clearly did make him more appealing, especially when you compare the anime shots to the manga panels(like this is the one everyone keeps posting where he wipes sweat off his forehead after massaging that guy).
And that's fine, it's not hurting anything.
>>ONE planned to have first "Mob explosion" happen only after many number of chapters
I expected this going in, but I was actually pleasantly surprised when it happened so early. It was kinda cool, gave me a real "oh shit, so soon?!" kinda panic which was sweet
I don't know how much explanation "???" even really needs, it's just Mob's power going haywire while he's unconscious/zonked out from shock/in full flight or fight mode. Does ONE really need to explain how psychic power in general works before he finishes the series? I don't think so.
There's a theory that ???% is not part of Mob's powers, but a different entity within him. Even Ritsu says "that wasn't niisan" when he saw what happened on the TV in Episode 5 and connected it to their childhood incident. Also, as far as we know, Mob's the only person to awaken that thing/state when unconscious.
> This guy wakes up and realizes he got Mike Tyson'd
>There's a theory that ???% is not part of Mob's powers, but a different entity within him.
Yeah, I've heard it, but where are people getting it from?
>Even Ritsu says "that wasn't niisan" when he saw what happened on the TV in Episode 5 and connected it to their childhood incident.
But that's just what a character who doesn't know anything about psychic's opinion. It also doesn't have to be literal -- if ??? is just Mob's subconscious, it would ignore his personality and act entirely according to instinct, i.e., Mob would be unconscious and therefore not in control of "his"/???'s actions.
I mean, the idea that ???% is some kind of other being that we don't know anything about already is pretty much pure speculation. Even the percentage sign suggests that it's a function of Mob's mind.
> It was kinda cool, gave me a real "oh shit, so soon?!" kinda panic which was sweet
That's exactly why got me interested in picking up the manga after finishing episode 3. Looking back on it, it was an excellent idea and for all the shit the Claw Boss arc/fight gets, I think the explosions were utilized very well.
I didn't think the full version of OP: was going to fall for the guitar solo meme, but I was sadly mistaken.
Full OPs are almost never worth it.
I don't think anyone could force Ritsu to suck dick and Tokugawa still has needs. I dunno man. Obviously Kamuro is the perv here.
The artist hasn't done much else, their twitter is pretty bare.
I've seen people constantly say that they would love to have the reveal of
Reigan being Claw's bossas a end of episode cliffhanger so animeonlyfags freak the fuck out. However, I personally would prefer to see pic related as a cliffhanger if I had to choose, just imagine how much the animeonly audience would freak out from seeing this at the end of episode 11.
>mfw this storyline
>tfw i can relate to the dog spirit
Actually, wrapping everything gratitude-related up in half an episode is more than doable, not to speak it'd fit the title "Reigen and Mob". The Tsuchinoko hunt would barely take more than 5 mins runtime to finish.
>It would be odd though for Mob's love interest to be male though.
Then maybe Mob's goal would be to gain male Tsubomi's respect and become his friend
and Tsubomi-kun might actually get more screentime because ONE can write males better
Speaking of 99, I saw a video with the lyrics on twitter and they don't skip 88: they go "87, 8, 9, 90", not "87, 89, 90".
I'm not the only one who was bothered by this, right?
Would Mob still have a crush on him, or would it just be admiration instead?
