Anyone know why the A-Package was delayed from October to December?

Its been happenning to other VNs too. Unionism Quartet was from September to October, Then Kyonyuu fantasy after 2 got pushed back to September, and there are several others being forced back too.

After S only A-1 is translated, it seems unanimous that Benkei's is best. Azumi has 50/50 decent response. Sayaka's is decent but seems unnecessary.

other good route (but untranslated) are Seiso, Lee Jinchu, and Monshiro after.

Routes like Rinchi, Margit and Yoshitsunes are allright, but many feel like other characters outshine them (Busho and Shubunkyo for RInchi, Lisa and Cosima for Margit and Aki for Yoshi) but at least they have harem endings (except for Rinchu in a manner)

The rest have divided opinions on them.

One thing that I noticed is that they add two miniextras in the packaged version. First is probably the OST of the game, I think. The second is that they will add two ministories for both Aki (rival in Yoshitsune's route), and Bushou (that pervert girl from the Ryouzanpaku, blue hair). I'm perfectly fine with this since I liked them, but how about they give us an after story for Kokoro and Koyuki. I'm still expecting a miracle here but oh well.

I always wanted to do this. Let me put here why the anime is not optional, but rather something one mustn't watch.

- It was made for fans, which means you won't know any of the characters that appear, they don't give you any episode to introduce them properly. If only they had added the prologue in the VN...
- But guess what, it's also not for fans because one of the best things about the VN is the characters themselves, and in this anime, only the villains and Yamato and female band in Kazama family are important, everybody else is an extra and you may be lucky to learn their name if they suddenly mention it. They went as far as turning the male band in the Kazama family as extra characters!
- Yamato is a piece of blank paper here, with only his love of hermit crabs, which is the worst character trait to add, being there. Goddamn it, Yamato is a good MC because of his actions, but I can't see that in this anime. Not only Yamato, but also the heroines lose character traits just to make them harem members (since in this anime all of them want his dick, which only truly happened with Miyako in the VN).
- Full of cliches. They basically had zero originality in the whole anime and just reused as many cliches as you can possibly find in harem and comedy animes. I don't mind using one or two, but after ten I just wanted to crush my own eyes because of how annoying it was. They went as far as being completely inaccurate with the source material to make a dog chase, when we know that Momoyo can surpass the speed of a jet if she wants, just to make a goddamn cliche.
- The animation quality is terrible, the worst moment was possible when a machinegun was used against Momoyo. Low budget indeed. And if you're watching this for the ecchi material, there's far better animes than this one, trust me.

- The whole anime is boooooooring. The first part, ignoring the good first episode, consist on two episodes, half of each dedicated to each girl (the Miyako one being the only good one because it's the only character perfectly accurate to how she is in the VN). There's one in which Yamato is stuck in one stupid angle for the whole episode because keeping the angle is low budget tactics, and the other in which Mayucchi talks to herself during the whole episode, which some found funny, me I wished it didn't take that long. Then there's one episode related to Kokoro which is forgettable, the dick festival, and everything else plot related is so boring that is not worth commenting over it. The prime minister even said something really stupid to Yamato that I've long forgotten but no way I'm going back to watch it.

Just so you realise how bad it is, when Tachibana Takae appeared in Majikoi S, when she already appeared in the anime as the big bad, the massive change in personality she got in the VN was so big and much much better than the anime that it earned her the right to get a route in the A series.

I still remember the day I watched the first episode, saw how the girls acted in a cliche way like in a harem anime, and had a really bad feeling about it, which came true. So, in conclusion to what I said above and if you feel interested about it, the first episode, the Miyako segments in the first half of the anime that happened at the beginning of each episode and perhaps the dick festival (since I always wanted to watch it after they mentioned it in the VN) are the only things worth watching. The rest is boring, the second part being the worst. Majikoi is NOT a good anime, and I cannot recommend it to fans and non-fans. You're better off reading the mangas or listening to the drama CDs as an alternative to the VN.

Benkei is a great character but I didn't find her route to be terribly interesting. The conflict with the Musashi bookstore was decent and was probably the best scene in the story.

A quick look at A-5 shows that they still use the originals, but there is a gap between old and new characters as far as style is concerned.

Even after Hume being stronger, Haou being at her level and Tsubame defeating her they failed to capitalize and give her any actual growth about that outside her route, because let's face it, character growth isn't really a priority for anyone outside their own routes. The only character able to rein her in is Yamato, and that is only partially in her route because he can call her out on stuff.

The problem is that her strength level is basically "ultimate gag", and her only real issue, the battlelust, has already been addressed.

Then again, S and A-* has been very hit and miss for me, so maybe it's best they don't mess with the characters too much.

Momo still best girl though.

Hopefully Minatosoft continue after A5. I mean, there's no reason not to continue the cash cow of the company. More majikoi= win win situation

The teason I figured it was potential in things to do, the clones all have a lot of potential and in Takae they kind of built up an eventual rematch with Momoyo, the stories I ranked low is there's things that might be able to work but I don't really see it happening and the not happening stories are the ones that have sealed off endings where not much can be done since everything is wrapped up.

Now that I think about it lee might move up a tier while Sayaka should go even lower.

Obviously but as stated before, The Afters are there to ensure fans of those heroines continue buy the games. The clones are just the obvious choices as they were the lures to buy the A series in the first place with Tsubame being the lure of A-3 and Rinchu being the lure of A-4

Now that is a battle I'd like to see. Serious Momo vs serious Haou would probably be a tie, with the edge to Haou since it's her route.

Which honestly, it's kind of a shame. Since she already had her own route but no ultimate foe, Momo is now battle relegated to a metric, since there are no disadvantages fighting her, especially if you own the route.

Sounds about right considering they have less new heroines to work with, I highly doubt they'd give a route to each of the Rozanpaku and Hound squad members.

Playing the original game right now. I thought it was kind of awesome how Miyako tries to climb Yamato's mountain all the time so I started her route first.
