The leader of the Golden Dawn used "Yggdrasil", which is the name of the World Tree in Norse mythology.
The Midnight Sun's plan involves the Kabbalah, the Tree of Life of jewish mysticism (which anime fans will recognize from Neon Genesis Evangelion).
