Yes, but it still makes sense. It will seem like a decent into insanity, but by the end you will be able to tell that it was all planned from the start.
In a few episodes it will start to go downhill a bit, but a few more tonal shifts and it's the greatest anime ever made by human hands.

I fucking love Samurai Flamenco, and I love the parodies it does and how the entire world changes every time.

Like, first arc is basically the real world, our world. Then Guillotine Gorilla appears and it becomes Kamen Rider world, monsters are now a normal thing and stuff like that.

Also even the prime minister is portrayed as a little bitch.

Then it changes again and becomes Super Sentai world, now humanity can build mechs and super tech.

AND the prime minister is now a cool/decisive guy, not a little bitch like in Kamen Rider anymore.


Honestly SamFlam is one of the best anime i've seen in the last 5 years, at no point does it try to be serious despite the fact that the series becomes darker, it never tries to pretend it's not a parody of tokusatsu.

Cast is likeable too, the only complain I have is the animation doesn't live up to it all the time but honestly I couldn't care less about that.

Was anyone not surprised, well I shouldn't say not surprised, cause his sudden appearance did startle me, but was anyone else expecting the show to shift genres and become a more conventional "superhero" show right before Slicing Simian arrived? I felt like the anime was kind of building up towards something grander, cause Hazama already cleared the streets of crime or most of it, and he was already getting competent as a hero, he had the tragic backstory of his parents (even though he didn't care thank God, I always appreciated that he didn't feel like avenging them). Basically it felt like the show hit it's natural conclusion and that we had to kind of move on to something "bigger", and I guess that's where King Torture comes in. The only other logical conclusion would be for the show to get all grimdark and become a police procedural mimicking batman or even worse become like Kickass the comic.

Also why are so many people angry about it shifting genres and not staying as kick-ass the anime? 22 episodes of that would've been awful, it was already close to getting played out by the time it ended, so I'm glad they moved on.
