There's nothing to predict what Rem might do. The only thing that there is to true to her nature in general is that she's a character that is undervalued in the world. It is true that Tappei likes Emilia and that he himself pushes her, From Zero was not something he made out of pure accident. The build up was there but no one saw that coming in a sense that nobody would expect her to throw out her bare feelings to Subaru at that point on.

I think it might be interesting if Rem does get awakened without her name and memories. So I heard that /a/ hates this show, but I have yet to hear a reasonable argument for why.

I mean, yes, it's an SAO-clone, but I feel like it's trying to do the same thing that Madoka/Eva did for their respective overused-genre-of-the-decade.

It's a deconstruction and character analysis of the protagonist, and I believe that what it lacks in story, character depth, and originality, it makes up for it with the depth of the protagonist, being extremely creative with it's gimmick, and managing to have meaningful conflict and tension despite the protagonist basically being immortal.

It has a lot of shitty parts that are extremely bad, Rem is a pretty shitty cliche waifu and the maid sisters in general are extremely cliche, but I still feel it manages to make up for it's flaws.
