Rohan comes off as a lot more sadistic in general, while Hazemada was motivated by fear of Akira, Rohan just didn't consider Koichi (or Hazemada, or Okuyasu) to be people with feelings at all.

But yeah, you have a point about part 5, the constant bloodbath aspect was cool for a bit but wound up being predictable. Parts 3, 6 and 7 handled it better, with fatalities being handled on a case-by-case basis.

Kira's presentation in the anime so far and Killer Queen in the last episode have been on fucking point, and honestly I think them switching Cinderella with Quiet Life was the best choice. I think Part 9 will be set in Europe and be about a gang war between two factions. One led by the Reboot Version of Giorno and the other led by the Reboot Version of Jolyne

Personally i think Part 4 has been superior to Part 3 in terms of the anime adaption The pacing has led to faster paced fights and there has been far less filler and more interesting.

Best episodes so far are Angelo or Rohan Part 2. Jope SHA steps up the game again, we had very solid episodes at the begging (first 6 chapters excepting the very first) and then some other good ones there and there (like Rohan 2, Tonio or RHCP 2). Since the Harvest arc started the overall quality has been very poor.

Harvest 1/2 was pretty good for how fun it was, they nailed the comedy aspect and the 500 Million scene is the funniest scene in the anime so far, Okuyasu's voice actor is the fucking best.

That was the big problem with part 3 that was shown through the anime, half the damn fights aren't memorable and are really bland. Part 4's anime hasn't suffered from this at all yet, even the blandest fights in the manga (Ratt, Cinderella, The Lock) got top-tier treatment and actually made them really fun to watch. If an adaptation can improve over source material, DP sure has done well so far.

I talked about this a few days ago, but I think the overall quality of the show is mediocre. I mean, there are a lot of good details and stuff, like you said, but I really think David has a real problem when it comes to storyboarding the episodes. I'm talking more about the direction than the animation or QUALITY, which are real problems sometimes but not the focus of my concerns, they simply add to it, making the problem bigger. Outside of those close-up shots or impact frames David knows to do so well and we all love, they fail in basic things like the establishing shots and so on. I the blame use of composition and space, broken perspectives or characters who don't blend very well with the CGI backgrounds (this can't have a lot of reasons, DiU's backgrounds are usually plain and empty, with no shading (see Quiet Life Part 1), they would be an abolute boredom if they didn't have those crazy colors to compensate), etc.
These shots I'm talking about become filler, a mere formality until those close ups we all like to screenshot and post saying "wow, they really nailed this panel in the anime!". For example, the scene after Fatty's death were all the stand users are together near Reimi's alley.

To be honest I don't really notice the issues you mentioned, sure the QUALITY can be quite distracting at times and their blunders like the way they revealed the travesty that was Killme Queen was bad but stuff like the CG backgrounds you pointed aren't something that's noticeable unless pointed out. Maybe you have a bigger eye for these things than I do but I usually judge the episodes on the usage of OST and how nicely directed scenes can be because I'm more of an OST person.

it is pretty good, but rests on gyro and diego heavily. most of the excitement is the courtesy of jockey diego. rest of the characters get stale and some abilities look like a rehashed version of earlier parts.
This is why part 8 feels so much better. Dynamic characters other than MC, cool stand designs and binding story.

I like this about SBR
It's much more "human" than the other parts because it's much less focused on stands and is more story driven.
I really didn't mind most of the stands just being an ability the user had because Araki made up for it with all the god-tier designs in part 8

Yeah, maybe it's because of my studies (I also plan doing some visual story telling in the future), but these problems are jarring to me, SPECIALLY because I fucking like JoJo. The scene I mentioned, the one with the stand users of Morioh talking with Reimi, it comes after the death of Fatty, which was really well done, it's obvious that it was a critical moment for the show and the animators were willing to make that come to life, but then the reunion scene comes up and it feels so lifeless and I'm like "Oh, it's one of those scene where the people making the anime don't really care about and are triying to end quickly so they can progress the plot and reach the next IMPACT scene / shot". There's inconsistency. The only one anime I'm following right now apart from DiU is Mob Psycho (and my Taiwanese Wuxia puppet show) and while it has orgasmic animation scenes, the "in-between" scenes that are not -so-important are well made, I mean, they don't dragg my attention to that zone of "Oh, it's one of those scenes...", which happens in DiU.

I felt like the reunion scene had the same impact as it did in the manga, that is to say it was fucking hype to see them all there. I really don't notice the issues you're saying, as I've never really thought about that. The only times I notice something like that is if it's a long drawn-out QUALITY shot but even then it's solely for the QUALITY. But hey, good luck with your studies, I do hope with the remainder of DiU episodes left they gradually keep on improving, especially for the finale.

Once again what catches my attention the most is more music direction and voice acting than anything, I don't really mind storyboarding because I have the manga for that and not really much has stood out to me about the storyboarding in the anime in a negative light. Music and voice acting can add so much to scenes and make fight scenes, funny scenes and very sad scenes feel all the more brilliant. Shigechi's death for example, Shigechi's voice actor did a stellar job making Shigechi sound like he was in terrible pain, and the way the slow, sad music that played in the scene worked with the long drawn-out, painful walk of Shigechi getting to Josuke and Okuyasu was executed beautifully.

Another episode I keep rewatching was episode 17, whilst there were QUALITY shots here and there the way the OST was used during Reimi's tale and Kira's reveal is utterly orgasmic and added so much more atmosphere in comparison to the manga.

Yeah, I also watched that episode twice. Like I said, it's not (mainly) about the QUALITY but the direction itself. For a very specifical example, this shot during the reunion scene. It only lasts a few seconds, but I could only concentrate in how Reimi looks like a fucking dummy and out of place. I was asking to myself, "why not focus the shot more into Koichi and Josuke, make it more of a close up or something". It's a very specific moment, but I think it ilustrates my concerns very well. Like I said, I think it's a matter or a problem started in the process of storyboarding, and then the overall visual direction. Maybe they don't even storyboard these shots / scenes.

The only thing I'd argue part 4's anime fails at in comparison to the other parts are the QUALITY moments which are much more noticeable, but I watched parts 1, 2 and the first half of 3 from the BDs so if they had a lot of QUALITY I wouldn't have been able to tell much.

I'd honestly say the part 4 anime's a stepup especially from part 3's adaptation, the pacing is solid, the OST and use of it is fantastic and as a whole the adaptation feels very stylish and fun to watch. They've captured what made part 4 so damn fun really well, and even nailed the more serious scenes in it with exceptionally good quality.

They also did justice to fights or arcs that weren't that good in the manga, The Lock's episode was so much more entertaining than it was in the manga, Ratt actually felt incredibly tense and Cinderella had some of the best artistic shots I've seen.
