In my opinion, it's probably the best "Transported to another world" anime of the lot. it comes close to being great in places, but it can get really frustrating too. I think most people will be seeing flaws from the first episode, and that will only continue. not to mention the "I'm an earthling in another world" really has no point, the story could be told just as well with a character who was born in the world.

PP and Re:Zero both kind of excel in areas where the other lacks. PP doesn't have great visual direction, Re:Zero does. Re:Zero lacks meaningful, dynamic character relations, but PP has those.

The reason I'd say PP wins out over Re:Zero is because it takes a more challenging setting to do in anime (seriously, there's a reason police procedurals aren't much of a thing in this medium) and really makes it its own. Re:Zero isn't stepping outside any boxes. It doesn't have to in order to be good, but the point still stands that PP rises to a challenge that Re:Zero doesn't.

You can say all you want to sound smart and intellectual when in reality, it is merely pseudo-intellectual spouting that cannot hold it's own flame based on the perception you hold. Psycho-pass had potential, but it was badly handled by Urobutcher in terms of writing. No matter how much Urobutcher makes a twisted premise, it cannot hold it's own candle in writing. Even Madoka had this problem within itself and /a/ does not see it.

Urobutcher can make an interesting premise but that can fall apart regarding how convoluted the situation and system that treats the characters can fall apart.
