I feel like Kamina was a 100% meme character. Like, I know some people joke about meme "x", but I felt like Kamina was seriously this. I got into the show later than most people and beforehand all I ever heard about was how awesome Kamina was and everyone hyped him up to be essentially the most bad ass anime character of all time. I was expecting to be wowed at his sheer awesomeness.

Low and behold to my surprise, he's not even the main character, and actually dies a couple fucking episodes into the series(not even half way into the series), and Simon ends up becoming even MORE badass than him. Looking back after watching everything TTGL-related, I saw Kamina as more of a cheerleader if anything. Sure, he had his cool moments and his glasses are sweet, but it seems like he was there mainly to raise the spirits of everyone and get them going.

Honestly I think what ensured that Simon would never be liked more than Kamina was his depression arc. That was him at his peak betaness, and after everything Kamina did, I think it made a lot of people hard to grasp Simon actually becoming more badass than him.

I'd say I'm 75% RRGI 25% Subaru. Could be worse, atleast I'm not fucking Shinji

These are the only tropes that are really significant and relevant. Everyone else is slight variations in confidence, and basically normal.

There's only a few characters on the spectrum that are actually relatable and realistic, and almost all of them are near the bottom. 8man for example is just a delusional fantasy.
