Iron Knight wasn't perfect, but at the least it felt so engaging. But this work really shows that the author has no idea what he's actually doing. He should become an assistant again and learn basic story telling.

It's the kind of thing I'd have eaten up when I was 14. Now, it's at least not offensive. I'm also kinda curious about the admiral/captain angle. Ships are cool.

So he better keep up the fast pacing and atleast make it an interesting ride.

I liked it. I don't get what's so bad about the storytelling. It seemed okay to me. I think it has potential and the steampunk setting is interesting.

Pacing went sanic fast the moment Hitler with no mustache attacked, but man, I'd give my left nut if the manga made the airships more than just a big balloon that takes the main party to places and gave us full blown airship battles, buy I very much doubt it will do that.
I still like the setting though, you don't usually see it in Jump.
I'll keep reading and see where it goes.

The steampunk setting is fantastic and as I posted >>146448029 here, if this actually ends up being more of an adventure/fight against the odds kind of manga, I think it could be interesting but as it stands, it looks more like it's going to be kind of an action thing and this first chapter felt like he could have made it two or three.

Plus the pacing seemed indeed super fast to go from "normal life"->Oh shit nigga, invasion->Soylent green is people->You are the demons->REVOLUTION

It's like you forget that Shonen Jump is aimed at young boys and that you shouldn't expect gripping storytelling in every series. There are exceptions naturally but this is the way of the magazine.

I think it's kinda rushed because he tried to get infodump out of the way pretty quick and then the time-skip.

But as long as he takes it a bit slower after establishing the world I think I will enjoy this, hope it focuses on strategy with the ships along with superpowered battles though, I honestly can't read more Hero Academias or Black Clovers where it's just punch harder or scream a lot. I don't mind if they scream a lot as long as that's not the only thing

The Iron Knight guy isn't too bad at paneling/composition but he's fascinated with premises that sound neat but go nowhere or rather have nowhere to go.

Iron Knight as a one-shot was good, Iron Knight the serialization was okay but got bad pretty quick then cancelled. It also ended depressingly- the kid dies sealing the strongest goblin away permanently.

Red Sprite reeks of early cancellation material.
