Vanilla Leo is still absurdly strong, too, if episode 12 is anything to go by. It is also stated to be the leader of Vertexes and have more intelligence than the others.
Considering how Sumi would have been able to defeat it if not because of Shinju being a dick, and how Sonoko eventually went against and won over the Starcluster all by herself without even having the sealing function, it could be said that the post system upgraded Wasuyu is much more stronger than the Yuyuyu including Yuuna.

Vanilla Leo has a very strong firepower, but it's main body is not very "resistant", at least not in WaSuYu and YuYuYu standards. Yuuna exposed its soul in one hit with Mankai in episode 12 pretty much like Sumi did in ch.8.

Leo Starcluster is the real monster here. The only thing that they could do to it in Mankai was just to push it. The Vita game implied that Sonoko did fought Leo Starcluster, but she acknowledged that they (three) never were able to destroy any Vertex, so it is possible that her other 18 Mankai only made it retreat if she wasn't lying at all right there. Probably the Hero Club might had to do that too if they didn't had the sealing system in their hands.

So I think that the upgraded WaSuYu system and the YuYuYu system are equally strong, it's just that YuYuYu has the advantage of the sealing rituals.

Whether Sonoko actually defeated Leo Starcluster or not is irrelevant. The point is that she could go toes to toes with it and also other Vertexes whom the whole yushabu struggled to deal with. Fuu was pretty much an invalid after tanking just one of its attack, Karin had to mankai 4 times and became a full log to defeat 4 Vertexes and some Stardust, the whole yushabu had to gang together to hold up nuclear Leo.
It said that the amount of Vertexes/Stardust destroyed after episode 12 was enough for peace to last 1 or 2 years. Vertexes also stopped attacking for 2 years after the Seto bridge battle, so that must mean that Sonoko alone was able to at least scare the Vertexes shitless and destroyed as much Stardust as the yushabu did in episode 12 if not more. In that sense, even with just 1 fairy, upgraded Sonoko is still monster tier compared to the Yuyuyu, and Sumi's firepower was said to be much stronger than her.
The systems might be equally strong but the Wasuyu themselves seem much more powerful.

The WaSuYu heroes did seemed to have a more intense training, so those 2 years of wheelchair probably did made Tougou weaker than her Sumi self.
