For Burning Abyss it comes down to how much leeway they get with their banlist hits.
They are good cause Dante is generic and he has gotten a Waifu upgrade which makes a already crazy consistent deck more consistent.
Then we get the fact that if you have no backrow they can special themselves at the cost of not having a grave effect that turn.
This effect applies to all maindeck BA cards but one I believe which means if you open 4 different BA's you can end up with a Dante and Beatrice on the field turn one.
They also splash other rank 3 engines with special summoning couples into their deck one of whom have the power to search special or add from grave. Phantom Knights and Speedroids + Tour Guide means you have 3 Dante's you can make without having to even normal summon any monster.

Then you get crazy stuff like how they float into each other if you get their effects to go off right and the fact Dante can add even more grave effects to the duel by milling. It's just really a lot of positives and the very minimal negatives on their engine and their design that makes them good.

Blue-eyes only won since Burning Abyss and Monarchs were neutered from the OCG list so Worlds only brought it over.
Even in TCG it's not even good since Kozmos, Burning Abyss, Monarchs and Pendulums are all better than it.
Also Exodia FTK loses to G2 siding in Droll and Lock Bird and ASF so it's probably not even good these days.

It's much better in the manga. There's none of that forced original stuff NAS put in and it doesn't feel as dragged out either. There are a few hiccups as Kaz was literally dying when drawing that arc but it's rather solid for the most part.

Not sure about scans. You're probably better off buying the manga. There might be digital versions of it on Viz site. Not sure.

Konami cares about money first and foremost. They forego good game design to make broken cards in every era to get people to buy their product then they ban those cards to push more product later.

This just proves Kamishiro can't write for shit and Ono is just a flashy, over-the-top director who can't handle real substance. I'm one of the people that actually took the time to watch every series and know the ups and downs of each. I don't like Zexal, but there are some good bits. Arc V is actually my favorite, and it's star episodes are amazing, but it has dropped immensely in quality. DSoD's clips and pictures doesn't make it good. I can take a few screenshots of the worst of Gx and make it look like the best series easily. I want to see it, but in no way do I consider it even close to the anime and mangas' highest points.

What does this even mean? As far as I know no one even cared about the movie until Arc-V started becoming so shit and even then people focused more on complaining about why it's so shit and masturbating to 5Ds and GX because of their legacy characters being prominent in the series.

There has always been a general hate towards anything DM related in these threads simply because it's the most popular series. I even remember people shitting on the trailers saying all the budget should have gone to Arc-V and other bullshit like that. No one even cared about who Kaz was until the movie started making waves with the rest of the YGO community outside /a/ and in Japan. I'm 99% sure most people in this thread haven't even read the manga and go with whatever they remember of watching DM thinking it will follow that continuity.

So because people don't even have a good idea of what to expect they just assume it's going to be really good because of all the manga readers getting excited about it. Then when the movie doesn't meet their arbitrary expectations they say retarded shit like KAZ IS A HACK and THE MANGA IS SHIT. DM IS SHIT. I CAN'T BELIEVE ARC-V WAS SHAFTED FOR THIS GARBAGE.

The movie is pretty nice, the animation is beautiful, duels give that manga style feel despite most of the cards being useless shit like always and it really wraps up DM.
That said, I am sort of sad that Yugi's stuck in the friendzone after 20 years and Mokuba is officially the last member of the Kaiba family but I guess all endings aren't happy.

Like what's even the point of NBEUD anymore? Just run LAO and Neutron Blast if you want to OTK since you don't even need a clear board and other Blue-eyes Fusions in the ED to attack 3 times.
Even worse is that the opponent can't do shit to stop you in the Neutron Blast situation so it's always better than NBEUD OTK since you won't die to Handtraps, Flip Effects or backrow. in the middle of it.

That's pretty shallow if you ask me. I can say the same thing about highly acclaimed series like HxH, FMA, OP, etc. If they were just "classic battle shonen" then they wouldn't be as revered. Clearly there is something more to those stories that captivate the people reading them.

The same thing applies to DM manga. It's more than just a "classic battle shonen." The storytelling is tightly packed and intentionally plotted well for the most part, compared to most shonen manga whose plot seems to be made up on the spot. The duels are more than just shilling/boss spam but display clever strategies and more importantly convey the will of the duelists wielding them. Even the cards they use are so methodically planned and reflect the personalities of their wielders. Despite the limitation of the "shonen protagonist" not losing, Kaz is able to create many challenging and troublesome obstacles that expose Atem/Yugi's vulnerabilities to cast away that "all perfect Jesus persona" that's so common these days. The rival character has much more depth and emotional baggage than your typical shonen rival. The best friend character is so well written he can even take the place of the main character. The manga explores many dark themes and Kaz attempts to create many moral gray areas despite inherent limitations while other shonen manga are black-white in their morality. The core themes of the manga as said by Kaz himself are friendship, death, love and independence. These go beyond themes of standard shonen manga and Kaz embodies them into the story in a way that doesn't feel forced but compelling.These are all generalized aspects because there's just so much to say. But to write the manga off as a "classic battle shonen" is narrow-minded imo.

I haven't seen this level of storytelling from any of the other series which is why I'm confident in saying it's the best YGO has to offer now and better than your average shonen manga.

The black and white morality thing is what makes DM stand out from the other series as well as important duels being more than just card games deciding the fate of the world. Duels being extensions of the characters and characters not faltering in their beliefs is something a show like Arc-V needed to take note of. Even Zexal got that right with many villains. The sad thing is that Arc-V was set up for that. They had villains that could have provided a gray area but they squandered that potential.
