i thought it was pretty good, first half was a bit weak, animation wise especially, but second part was fine. Only part that was a bit disappointing was Angelica finishing off Gil's explanation of their goals, I expected her voice to be a lot more dramatic.

Really looking forward to next episode though, Illya, Kuro and Miyu all got great scenes in it and I have no doubt that their voice acting will be top notch. Just gotta hope the animation for the fighting can also be decent. It's obviously not gonna match the manga but as long as they can keep the quality similar to the previous seasons then it should be fine.

I blame the lack of emotion every scene has, this has been a problem during the entire season, the VA are just not doing a good job during important scenes, the Thor vs Caster fight for example was awesome in the manga but it was dull as fuck in the anime. The preview for next episode gives me hope, Illya actually sounded like she cared about was it's happening.

Really, I actually found the voice acting to be one of the things that's done best,. In that scene both Mai and Rie are doing great, especially Rie is really pulling it off well.

The issue with that scene was that it cut out some of the important moments that ruined the flow, like Illya not knowing that it was sapphire she had picked up and starting her flying speech, instead of her just randomly running towards Beatrice.

I also feel the biggest issue the adaption has is that they try to adapt it a bit too directly, almost panel to panel from the manga, and it just doesn't always work that well.

I'm not sure why but most of 2wei(last fight against gil being the exception) felt like it fit better as an anime than 3rei does. 3rei got far too much dialogue during the battles that just doesn't work well animated. That and the fact that they could adapt everything in 2wei due to it's slower pace compared to 3rei where they have to skip important character moments to fit it all into 12 episodes.

As for the plot, it starts out as mostly as magical girl show with fate elements and does for most parts stay that way, at least until the more recent manga chapters. It's nothing amazing but it's terrible either, especially if you like the typical magical girl themes like I do.

Apparently, her route got cut to save time in making the original VN and Nasu just never added it back on.

People have said, though, that her spin-off is her route. I understand that, to some, Prillya isn't the same Illya as in the previous routes from H/A, SN, HF and UBW. Prilya's personality vastly differs from Illya's. Prillya is sweet, kind, and pure and Illya's personality was marred by the pain she went through in becoming a master, losing her parents, and being dead set on killing her brother. Yet, under all the pain Illya suffered through, her true personality still remained. This is seen where she absolutely adored Shirou in SN and HF. I think that Prillya is what Illya would have been but for the life situations she faced. Of course, nobody yet knows how Prisma will end, but if it ends well then perhaps you'll get your wish after all and she truly will be able to have a happy ending.
