So who here reads this manga?
Just reached chapter 90, where they introduced the Big Boss for the Nationals.
This shit is fun. Nothing really special but its an entertaining shonen sports manga.
Also how long till the anime? This shit has some serious Fujo potential. Damn these guys are hot.
Just caught up to all the chapters available.
Isn't Fallen Angels like 10 chapters behind or so?
It's becoming less and less epic. I smell editor's interference. Fuck Shonen Jump and its editors. Money-grubbing bastards.

Loved that chapter probably one of favourite from the manga, mostly because you spend the entire series with characters who for inexplicable reasons love sumo so much or train to ridiculous degrees, you have this guy who pretty much says he's the best because he works hardest and loves it the most. Essentially saying fuck you everyone your hardwork and love ain't shit

It's one of the best ongoing Jump series.
So do you guys think he'll cover the pros since he's hyping up the foreign talent? Or maybe some World cup esque high school tournament where the National Treasures team up against the best foreign HS prospects?
Notice how there is coincidently 5 total national treasures, the right amount needed for a team?
It's a fun and criminally underrated series. Nip kids are embarrassed by Sumo basically.

my understanding is that the editors are heavily promoting it as they want another jp-ONRY sumo boom like they encountered with children playing tennis after Prince of Tennis got big.

Yeah, I enjoy that weird subtle Japanese racism thing that permeates their sports manga in some form or another.
The whole point of Hinomaru's whole cast is to make a Japanese Yokozuna because (IRL) Mongolians have been running the show for a while.
...nevermind that Sumo descends from Mongolian wrestling. Whatever- manga is good.
Also manga are shockingly good at giving sports a boost- Eyeshield 21 really gave American Football a shot in the arm in Japan.

All nips are embarrased about it. It's their sport, but the only active Yokozuna are 3 mongolians. The last time a nip got the title is almost 20 years ago.

It's a lot of fun. Sorta like Eyeshield 21, I can enjoy it without liking the sport that much.

It's doing well in ToC. Only the volume sales are bad.

Yeah I hope it manages to limp through and not get cancelled anytime soon, lord knows it deserves it's spot

Don't worry, Batsu, Love Rush, Red Sprite, and the pending endings of Toriko and Gintama are there to likely eat all of the cancellations/endings.
