It's unlikely that Dumas can create anything that's non-replicable by Unlimited Blade Works. UBW works based on Shirou's ability to analyze a weapon. If he can't analyze a weapon, it means it's beyond his comprehension. Holy swords like Excalibur just can't be replicated by default, and Ea is in a separate category altogether.

EX-ranked weapons can't be replicated on principle. The reason Shirou was able to replicate Avalon was because he had a perfect image of it inside him after being fused with it for so long. That being said, he can only replicate it as long as he's connected to Saber.

I actually do
At first he just seemed like a typical selfincert MC, which he still is in the anime.
Only in the VN do i think you can get a better understanding of his character.
He does has some interesting character traits.
Like being very stubborn, wanting to trush and like people but would kill them in a heartbeat if they did something he himself deemed irredeemable whether it was right to do so or not and also being a little sexist and old fasion sometimes.

But it's the confrontation with Archer that really makes him a good character for me.
Just by hearing them talk to each other you can really get a sence of how self loathing Shirou is and how little he thinks if himself, only driving his impossible ideal even further to the breaking point.

Not that it matters now because Grand order has made the Fate serise to KanCol tier mobile cancer that will forever get milked for it's name now.

Kerry in general is just an odd vehicle for discussion of his ideals because he's treated as this dark and warped perversion of something good, yet he's treated like that because he stoops to methods that don't really align with his stated ideal anyway. For someone derided as a superhero wannabe turned human calculator, he doesn't really seem that concerned with human life.

For example, it's mentioned he's planted bombs in public places to get at targets he thought were dangerous. But doesn't that just make him the greater threat to humanity as a whole, since the threat his target posed was theoretical at that point? His kills MIGHT have manifested, but Kerry definitively did kill people who would have otherwise lived. How is a bomb somehow going to save more human lives than getting in up-close or innumerable other potentially cleaner options? Or what about Kayneth? Kayneth was broken and ready to leave the war. He posed some kind of distant, theoretical threat but not one that was really going to manifest.
