Yeah the source material is pretty solid from what i read and im not that bothered by the designs.

It would be pretty cool if some scenes are in Take's artstyle like the way Hidamari changes from the more realistic looking designs to the WIDE designs.

Yes and no. I'm a huge Zaregoto fan, so I can't accept the reality of this series getting a visual adaptation. Sure, 8 OVA series to cover the first volume, but it's still not going to work. Fansubbers are probably going to kill themselves trying to sub it, and even then any typical fansubbing won't cut it unless there's a group who knows how to translate well and also not localize the script.

Not looking forward to seeing the Monogatari art style just slapped on it when an approach similar to Katanagatari would've worked way better, but I am looking forward to just seeing the story animated regardless. I'm definitely glad it's an OVA, because that means it'll at least have similarly great production values to Katanagatari.

I've read the official English translation of the first novel and I thought it read alright. Obviously I have no point of comparison since I haven't read the original Japanese, but I don't remember the English being awkward or stilted or anything. Couldn't fansubbers just copy the lines from the translated novel into the subs?
