Was this any good? Thought Genshiken 1 and 2 were fine on their own, dont really feel like watching more unless it stands up to them

no it became fujoshit
I consider Hen Zemi to be the canonical sequel to Genshiken
>>146227891
Genshiken I and II were better but don't let the fujohate necessarily turn you off; it's still entertaining.

Its worse, but its not unwatchable.
I really liked both, and I like the way the manga is going.
The first part built up all the characters really well, which is what gives weight to the second part.
A lot of fujoshit is done with characters that are barely people and are just avatars for the tropes the author wants to push, but it isn't the case for genshiken.
Everyone is an actual person, they've had years of development before romance was even thrown in the mix for real. Couples are formed and broken, and you're left with actual anticipation about what's going to happen, because unlike 99% of shitty romance manga, Genshiken actually lets people get on with it and get together, instead of pussyfooting forever to test the audience's patience.
All in all, I love it.
I'm just sorry that everyone hates Hato for his crime of being a qt trap.
I figure most people are just mad that their self insert Madarame might be a fag.
I enjoyed it.

I watched and enjoyed 1 and 2 when they aired, and I liked part 3 a lot too. Partly BECAUSE of the fujoshit.
Also because of the best *girl*

The music's pretty good.
Fujoshit wasn't even that bad, the pointless harem in the manga was worse.

>I'm just sorry that everyone hates Hato for his crime of being a qt trap.
Yup, thats exactly the problem. /a/ just hates traps.
Trap is a shitty character. Yeah we get it, you're a fucking queer.
Final chapter where?

I'd fuck this queer, IYKWIM

watching this makes me sad, it makes the first generation of genshiken looks like a relic of the past.

But it is. It's even a theme explored in the anime.
Everything comes to an end, and as close as your school friends might be, real life will pull you apart some day.
IT ENDED

it hits so close to home

Genshiken Nidaime was unnecessary. I don't recommend reading/watching it.
