He was kinda right in that superhumans are childish, and that normal humans ought to stop looking up to them.

But he was an asshole, and he outed himself as a superhuman too in the presence of a vengeful evil witch, so that wasn't a smart move.

Griffith is a believable character that can be related to. His options were to sacrifice his friends to become a god or to live the rest of his life as a cripple in the middle ages while Caska gets fucked by Guts every night. He didnt even have the physical strength to end his own life.

You can hate him for what he's done sure. but he really had no other way out. his last "words" before transforming show how he didnt want his friends to suffer. (pity he couldnt really shout for them to run away since he had no tongue).

I think if we search we'll prolly find someone more detestable. Like this guy (ok, maybe in the future we'll see more of his past, but Im not convinced by the little that was shown)

What's so great about this interp of his character? He's an asswipe who can never own up to his actions. There's never a legit choice for him, only necessity and things that 'can't be helped'. I don't care he's manipulated by a giant evil heart, he's still a huge prick and even if he's an agent of fate, EVERYTHING IS WORKING IN HIS FAVOR.

I could probably relate if not for how he got in that situation to begin with. Poor Griffith, the way he fucked over himself and his companions due to his own issues and royally bailed himself out by throwing them under the bus.

Griffith is human. He's hated because he was so human. A terrible human and now no longer human.
