You unironically just named a show that would fit the description. A masterpiece should give one hope though.
>>146189369
Definitely not that one.
>>146189444
We're too cynical to think of one
>>146189369
Recently? almost none.
The adaptations that have potential get ruined by getting a mediocre studio and all the big studios only make cash cows.

Shirobako is fucking boring, I don't get what you people see in it

An instant permanent ban for your underaged ass wouldn't even be enough. Try to come up with an actual argument you mongoloid.
>>146189369
This show, particularly season 2 was pretty fucking epic, had tons of characters and developed a select few very deeply and well.
The VA's were amazing, the content source was original and I don't feel it had too many stereotypes as far as the main cast goes.
>>146189634
Haha, joke's on you, I actually do have a friend
Hope for what? That it suddenly starts pumping out high art? Don't make me laugh.
>>146189686
Definitely both a great adaptation and an enjoyable piece of work that can be enjoyed separately from the manga.
>>146189686
>fucking epic

Alright here it goes: the story is uninteresting, and I didn't really care about any of the characters. Normally this would be okay if there were cute girls or comedy, but there were really neither of those.

AOTC
>>146189724
agree'd I've only read 4 of the manga because I prefer owning them, which costs alot in the US sadly.
It is byfar an "original" story though, I can't think of a highschool anime or anything like it.

Funny story.

I can't understand why everyone says this shit,
I've never used nor even visited reddit...
>>146189802
I only watched until like episode 6, there just weren't enough goofy shenanigans for me. I watch anime because it's excessively stupid, but Shirobako wasn't extremely smart or stupid.
>>146189607
More like a decent, run-of-the-mill Isekai story that gets propelled to fandom by all the purists, elitists, and haters alike? I mean it's not bad per se, but it's not something so extraordinary and not all of the original narrative translates well into the adaptation.

If you can't post a proper argument, you can go hang yourself. Boring isn't one so you might as well not post at all. I don't care for Shirobako.

You can't really describe it like that when best girl already lost.

What's the point of intervening if you don't have anything to say?
Last few years have given me hope for anime film. 2013 - present has been relatively dense with good movies whereas before that we had fuck all.

協会の彼方 kyoukai no kanata.
So far its pretty good(8 episodes in), It does lack in build up and explanation in some situations, but overall its 8/10 pretty good.
character development is great, story line seems original(although I've seen only around 90 or so anime, don't read manga)
worth the watch in subed for sure.

This. Anything in between always feels mediocre at best.

I hated this, I still haven't finished it and I first watched when it began airing. I've started again twice but can't make it into the 40's.

In terms of animated films, I think Makoto Shinkai's works fit. Can't wait to watch his latest film.

>Did I catch a cold? Something feels wrong with my nose and throat. My windpipe is a little narrower than usual. My chest feels strangely heavy. Like, physically heavy. I look down at my body and see my cleavage. My cleavage.
>“…?”
>The morning sun reflected off those bulges, causing the smooth white skin to shine. In between the two breasts, a deep shadow had gathered, like a blue lake in the valley between two mountains.
>Well, I guess I’ll give them a feel, I think suddenly. The thought had sprung up so naturally and automatically, like how an apple falls to the ground under the force of gravity.
>I am impressed. Oooh, I think. What is this? Taking this very seriously, I continue to fondle them. This is… how to put it… girls’ bodies are amazing…
Sure, can't wait to watch it.

Jesus, no. It's a pet project with a niche audience, and if there was tons more work like it, anime would slowly become a small, incredibly pretentious shadow of itself, subsisting largely on individual patronage.
Plus the last thing we need is more shows that convince weebs that they understand what it's like to be Japanese.
>>146192826
The way you talk makes it sound like most anime are "made for gaijins", or "weebs" as you called it.
And Shirobako's a show enjoyable enough to be watched by even the general audience; it might feel pretty loaded with information at the beginning, but the flow gets better as it moves on and P.A Works' approach works.
I think people are entitled to their own opinion, but calling Shirobako a show that will make "become a small, incredibly pretentious shadow of itself, subsisting largely on individual patronage" is an overstatement born from ignorance.
