As for writing and characterization; it only seems so because MP100 actually focuses down on a small cast of characters while the majority of OPM took place in a single arc (Garou's arc) and gave attention to a number of other characters. In time, as the webcomic and the manga proceed, they'll only continue to delve deeper into the characterization of the cast.

I like both OPM and Mob Psycho 100. I know that since OPM became popular we are supposed to hate it here, but it's not only a gag manga, it's a different take on action manga as well, and a very good one. The Hero Hunter and MA Arcs are very good pieces of battle shounen.
