The protagonist pursues another girl, but she has never returned any of his feelings, even later in the WN's. None of the other girls ever become anything more than friends or acquaintances with the MC.

Only two girls are ever even in the picture in terms of romance with the MC, and they're basically just serve as symbolic devices to guide the MC's development and character.

I did watch 13 episodes before dropping it.

The characters and their interactions were awful, world building pretty much nonexistent, and the sudden shifts from drama to bad comedy made it very hard to take the show seriously.

She's not dead. She's sealed away by the dragon and the seal is not very strong. She destroyed half of the world back in the day and killed most of the other Witches. She gave Subaru his powers to engineer her escape. Satella and the Witch of Envy are two different personalities living in the same body. She didn't create the Mabeasts, the Witch of Gluttony did that. Satella killed the Witch of Gluttony so now the mabeasts are angered by her scent which is why they attack Subaru. Also, Satella looks exactly like Emilia.
I hope the spoiler tags worked because they sometimes don't when using ctrl+shift+s.

I just marathoned the series.
I absolutely loved the first three episodes. I really loved the mystery when they were in the castle up to the 10th episode.
Afterwards it kind of fell apart for me. Main character started acting dumber than before (which makes kind of sense due to his inflated ego but is still too exaggerated) and all the princesses are shallow stereotypes I have it hard believing they're real characters. It basically turned into total lets fellate and break main character multiple times each ep. I kind of like it, but only for mad twists which remind me of Code Geass a lot. Beyond that it's really not that good of a series. Still very memorable due to crazy pacing and twists. ps. all girls are trash, puck is best waifu

The "death reset" premise is completely uninteresting. The character design is bland, and I only watch haremshit/"pick a waifu" shows when I want to fap. MC also looks dull and retarded.
