I doubt the aliens will be successful, but I think you underestimate their chances. They have at least three geoframes, probably four assuming the leader has his own. They can probably print out copies of the two pilots that died, and might be able to build replacement mechs for them. So that might bring their froces back up. They have an unknown number of the small cactus mechs, and the larger headless mechs. The GAUS have trouble with the headless mechs, and while conventional military can deal with the headless and cactus, it takes a pretty large force a fair amount of effort to do so.

Kurobe isn't exactly the most heavily fortified area. If they aliens throw everything they can at the Kurobe facility, they have a good chance of breaking through. While the alien geoframes tie up earth's geoframes, the rest of the alien forces can overrun the GAUS and more conventional defenses to steal the remaining stones. That's not even considering what the alien base itself might be capable of doing.

Doesn't seem to be so much mind control as it does indoctrination. Whether she was raised or programmed, she knew certain things about the way the world was, and that was it, and she didn't really think to question beyond that. Then the Black Relic activated for her without her registering with it, and she found a message from "herself" when she'd never been to this world before. That cracked her world view as obviously something weird was going on. She questioned her superiors, and they were fairly clearly keeping something from her. Then Ken started raising a ruckus, they declared her to be a traitor, and self preservation took over.

So she didn't break mind control or something like that. She simply started questioning what she knew. It'll be interesting to see what they were keeping from her. Just the section of the ship that Yukina found that was concealed from Mirasa guarantees they were keeping a lot of information from her, and possibly the others.

My question now is does she stick with Ken and Yukina, go with Zeru, or go off on her own for the time being. She can't really trust anyone very much at the moment, but now would be a bad time to try and go solo and figure things out.

I expect we'll get some kind of open ending where the reconnaissance unit is defeated, leaving humanity enough time to finish developing gravity control, geoframe, and nanomachine technology using the information that Zeru gave them.

Though I could see it end on a note of the Efidolg main fleet arriving in the future, to find a prepared humanity waiting for them. That sort of ending can have a sequel made, but doesn't require a sequel for the work to feel self contained.
