Too many timeskips (toriko regrowing his arm after tommyrod was 2 years iirc), huge events that were rushed through (the big betrayal at the cookoff) and other things like that. The heavenly kings were hyped from the beginnign in the human world, even having the title of 'heavenly kings' although they were absolute trash at the start (except for Zebra). They were incredibly weak considering they gew up with the strongest man in the world, and, I just don't know. Whatever puts food on the table ofr him I guess.

The point is, both were obviously rushed in the end. But while Kubo was keeping his shitty slow as fuck pace through the whole arc, Shima sped up, so now we have this wild ride. And Shima still tries to address worldbuilding details and keep logic in the story, while Kubo just wrapped the series with deus ex machina with half of story points just dropped.
