I expected an underwhelming episode and I got a decent episode with good directing. Yeah they rushed some parts but what else could they have done? It could've been long and boring with episodes that barely make any progress and a rushed asfuck scar arc.

I still can't believe there are people who hate Reigen. Like people only see him as a con-artist and that automatically makes him bad, disregarding the fact that Mob would've been super emo without him. Not all mentor-type characters have to be perfect, full of wisdom and always right. Reigen is just competent enough to care about Mob and his problems and it actually shows. Yet it's all completely ignored by some people because he is also using Mob

I think people who dislike Reigen see him as what they expect to see from this type of character (con-man, so automatically a irredeemable scumbag) as opposed to what he really is (a multi-layered character). Look at anime-onlys did they miss anything specific? They got the gist of the characters Motivations and Personalities, more is not needed. You can fluff storys all the time under the pretext of characterization, but that doesnt mean its good nor needed. This is not manga its anime, another Medium. The director picked the most important bits and build the story around it. Visual story telling also helped.
