'Anon, I'm happy now.'
Does animation even interest him anymore?
Because heck yeah I'd watch an anime film from him that is not fucking Eva but I get the feeling he's just going to end rebuild and then rest on his laurels.
Not surprising, considering how Shin Godzilla was a massive success and everyone loved it. Also, people say it was very Eva-like what with all the politicians and government/military exchanges.
The new Godzila is shit. Even 2014 Godzilla is better
Anno is hack and nothing more, he should stick to his shity anime and leave movies to real directors
I've never seen japanese people look so happy. How did Anno do it?
Imagine being him though.
You go from making Ultraman fan-film that is way better than it has the right to be to directing a Godzilla film that everyone loves.
Just ignore the horrible depressive episodes he had inbetween then and now.
That's exactly the reason Aoi Honoo is hilarious.
>You've done it, Anno
>After all these years, after all those times Miyazaki had to talk you down from that ledge, you made a Godzilla film.
>Now, lets shit out one last Eva movie so I can be free from that mess.
This bothers you, why?
I bet Miyazaki found something negative to say about the film anyway, he never praises other people's works. Which is fine but sometimes it feels like he just does it for the sake of being contrarian.
In AH's case it's deliberate because the funny faces is an actual trope called kaogei (顔芸)
Basically people make weird faces that are so over the top that people have to laugh at it
Legendary Godzilla looks more like a scaly bear than anything from Jurassic Park. At least it's somewhat loyal to the original concept, it's shocking how misguided the '98 movie was.
>it's shocking how misguided the '98 movie was.
Combine a lack of respect for the license with the Jurassic Park craze at its peak, and it stops being being shocking. Even the little Godzillas in '98 simply serve as replacements for raptors.
I saw Hideaki Anno at a grocery store in Tokyo yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn't want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, "Oh, like you're doing now?" I was taken aback, and all I could say was "Huh?" but he kept cutting me off and going "huh? huh? huh?" and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw Anno trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like "Sir, you need to pay for those first." At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually "to prevent any electrical infetterence," and then turned around and winked at me. I don't even think that's a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
>I wish I were at home
Just enjoying a brief moment before he needs more happiness.
His sadness is manifestating from his shirt. It looks like its crying.
This is cute and creepy at the same time
>literally every tokusatsu ever made and most other live action shows aimed at young audiences
More like 99% of japanese tv shows and movies. The only exceptions are the occasional wowow/nhk dramas and some movies.
Eva was still a cash cow for 10 years after it was finished. If anything, the last movie will just open up even more marketing opportunities. It's like fucking Star Wars at this point
>anno is at the highest point in his life right now
well there goes any chance of 3.0+1.0 being good
Well, hopefully he gets depressed again in time for the next Rebuild.
Congratz Anno you came from a long way.
I just watched like 15 of these videos.
I find endearing their affinity for glow sticks.
HAHAHAHAHA! oh wow
>Anno living his own version of EoTV
Any chance for a US release?
If so, whats the likelihood of a theater showing a Subbed screening?
