I'm through the first fifth of the first Kanagawa LN. A lot of world details brought up so far was revealed in the latest episode. Some points:

>The novel reads like Hotaru is the true MC of their LN.
>Hotaru was part of internal affairs and her role was to send troublemakers into cold sleep. Plot is that she's been assigned to assassinate Hime under the guise of a newly awakened student.
>Hime was brought out of cold sleep 10 years prior at 7 years of age and has held the top spot ever since.
>Hotaru and Hime were put to sleep in different sections. They don't bring people out of sleep in order so friends who came in at the same age can be years apart when both are awake.
>There are elementary, middle and high school sections. Highschool 2nd and 3rd years are typically frontliners with fighters joining the fighting forces as early as the last year of middle school.
>Top 100 rankers and graduates typically get sent underground. Hime could have done so years ago as one of the 100 top rankers but she's rejected the option.
>Illustrations indicate Hotaru always the one who comes to Hime's rescue when she's in a bind.
>Unknowns' M.O. appear to be capturing students rather than killing them. Not outright stated but they go out of their way to disarm and restrain their targets.
>Little Hotaru and Hime bench scene was actually from the LN.
>Hime's main duties are to stamp approvals on loads of paperwork Aoi brings her. She also gives lectures on using Aura since the adults can't and she's the best at using it.

I wish I hadn't been spoiled about the twist with Hotaru since it's actually been a good read.

In Aoi case, she rarerly gets main roles, so it's not like people can get that fix anywhere. Not to mention she tends to voice very active characters and she usually is giving great versitile performance.
Also I doubt there are a lot of people who really just watch it for Aoi. I mean there is always something else, just the best part is the performance of VA they like. You tend to gush over the most important part, not about other minor things. And as I have said VA can make or break shows. Think about KonoSuba and how great that show was because of VA.

I don't speak moon, also there is a difference between doing a show when you are a character and voice her by taking multiple takes in good conditions and just rambling in a talk show or whatever they do.
Also I don't watch this show just for Aoi. I watch it because I have a fetish for bad shows. QC, AV and TT are my jam this season. QC in particular is horrible in every aspect, especially quality while other two at least have redeeming values.

Still I can understand someone liking Aoi most out of this show but other stuff is not bad enough for him to drop show. So it serves his purpose and main reason to watch is VA, not show.

I don't think Qualidea Code is offensively bad, I almost enjoy it and the biggest impression I get is that it would be an acceptable show if not for the blatant production issues it has going on.
Aoi is definitively the highlight though, and some of the Iwasaki tracks.

Now, Ange Vierge, that show is incredibly superfluous and I mostly watch it for the seiyuu while skipping big-chunks or leaving it running on my second screen while I do other stuff.

For me story is also pretty bland and character progression is laughable at best. Timing is off and everything just doesn't click. So just visual upgrade would not really make a difference, complete overhaul would be needed.
I will give you that most basic idea behind it does have something going for it (3 teams of MCs interacting with each other with common goal), but really it would need much more than visual upgrade.

Pick one as they are practically mutually exclusive nowadays since anime fandom all but revels in it's own stupidity. Be honest though how often do you hear "I watch this show only for x" where x can be anything from a seiyuu to some sexy character design people like that doesn't make a 24x12 show any better to sit through for the couple minutes a week it might be exploited? It doesn't make any logical sense and it's cause it's just a meme like the majority of the replies that happen in this community anymore.

Sure some people do it, but not all the one's that claim it and certainly not all the fucking time. I mean I've checked out a few shows because they have Aoi Yuuki's girl crush Saori Hayami in them but if it's garbage (which unfortunately a lot of their shows have been of late) I just say fuck it, maybe watch some compilation clips on youtube and save myself a hell of a lot of wasted time. I'm not going to sit through garbage just to hear a seiyuu even if I really like their performance in particular or their personality in general.
