In Episode 1, it was explained that he was dissatisfied with his current situation, as he felt that he should be doing something more important than slacking around and helping. It also introduces his powers.
In Episode 2, his school life and his first assignment was shown. He empathised with the ghost with glasses, because they were similiar in popularity. There was the telepathy club cameo, and it basically shows that Mob wants to get fit to get attention of his Tsubomi-chan
In Episode 3, the Dimple cult was introduced, the nature of his powers(they are based on emotions) and him holding them back was shown, and the fact that he was unable to get a clue(mainly because of him holding his emotions back to stop his powers from hurting someone)
was pretty painful for him as he couldn't be friends with those kids, and he couldn't be close with a girl he loves. He was also feeling bad after defeating Dimple, as he ruined their happiness. Fuck i wasted my time.
