What are you working on?
What are you being a lazy shit and not working on?
What do you need help with?
What do you wish got picked up?
>>
I'm looking a translator to KissxSis manga.
>>
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but does anybody know where the scan of Saint Seiya in pic related is from, or the ones in >>145569343 ?

I'm not asking like, what release of the manga (kazeban vs whatever), but who scanned or ripped it digitally and where I can find the rest from that person
>>
>>145580987
That's Chinese.
>>
Rakuten is doing a promotion where new accounts get a 550 yen coupon. It's easy to rip from there and you can make as many accounts as you want, so that's basically free raws if you want something cheap.
>>
Anyone interested in Hi Score Girl? Looking for a translator
>>
>>145578716
Same thing
>>
>>145581726
I'm aware, but I want to know where I can find the rest of the manga from that scan/riip set even if it's in chinese because that's the highest quality set of scans I can find
>>
>>145582124
>It's easy to rip from there

How easy, exactly?
>>
>>145584155
Their reader is just Kobo, so literally Calibre + Obok and you're done.
>>
>>145578716
>What do you wish got picked up?
After that bullshit with three groups doing three releases of the same chapter, Birdmen's back to being dead again.
>>
>>145584202
How does Rakuten's ebook image quality compare to EBJ?
>>
>>145584278
It varies, but usually EBJ is slightly better. I've gotten a few things that were the same quality, but you won't get anything like the 1600px Kodansha releases that EBJ has. Being free makes that acceptable in my opinion, it might differ for you.

I've never done any digital ripping so i'm not sure exactly what that means but i'll look into it.

>>145584278
>>145584370
What site/service has the absolute best digital release quality that's rippable? The entire reason i'd be doing this is because i'm unsatisified with what scans are avaiaible online and i'm a quality/resolution whore and want the best thing possible.

I've seen DBZ color rips at like 2000x3000 that looked fantastic before, for instance, pic related (though it's downscaled a bit from the original rar I got it from I think and I very very sadly lost the rar), which is what made me want to do this to begin with. I also suspect that >>145580987 is a rip and not a scan
>>
>>145585174
>i'm not sure exactly what that means but i'll look into it.
It's probably the easiest method of ripping you can have. Just install Calibre and the plugin and it'll rip from your downloaded Kobo books.

>>145585174
>I also suspect that >>145580987 is a rip and not a scan
I think it's a scan because it's not perfectly rotated. You won't find anything like that DBZ rip, English digital releases are almost always better than anything on Japanese ebook stores because those are optimized for people who read stuff on their phones and don't care about resolution.
>>
>>145585348
>You won't find anything like that DBZ rip, English digital releases are almost always better than anything on Japanese ebook stores because those are optimized for people who read stuff on their phones and don't care about resolution.

Okay, so then what english service/publisher has the best quality digital releases that can be ripped and how would I do so?

Or is there just like fourm where I can learn more about ripping manga and speak to people who know their shit?
>>
>>145585594
I have no idea, I only rip Japanese stuff. You could try ripping from a few places and comparing it yourself, anything rippable for English releases should be documented online.
Or ask /co/.
>>
>>145585682
>anything rippable for English releases should be documented online.

I have no idea where to start looking though
>>
>>145585735
Look for stores that sell what you want (Kindle, Nook, etc.) and google how to rip from those.
>>
>>145585682
Also, just so I know, among japanese services, what/s the best? You said EBJ is better then Rakuten, but is there anything better then EBJ?
>>
>>145582124
Don't they have a way to block your IP if you make too many accounts?
>>
There's still nothing that can rip from Book Walker right?
Looks like the next best thing for Kadokawa stuff is EBJ but the script I made isn't very fun to use, I really need to find a way to automate it.
>>
>>145585831

It varies nowadays, EBJ could be 1200 while Rakuten is 1920. Always compare.
>>
>>145585831
>is there anything better then EBJ?
It depends on the publisher and site together. For example, Kodansha is 1600px on EBJ but much lower everywhere else. EBJ just has the most higher quality ones I know of, you really have to compare for everything.

Just finished off the end of something people never bothered to finish. Shame because it's actually quite good.

Delinquent manga, right? Is that your fetish or something?

Anyone interested in translating this? There's only four chapters left but the current translator disappears for months at a time.
>>
Are there any shops that sell manga by chapters? I don't want to spend 900 yen for a full magazine multiple times.
>>
>>145586357
I can think of maybe two series that get sold by chapters, but anything in a magazine won't be sold separately or they'd lose money.
900 yen seems insanely expensive though, what magazine is this?
>>
I need a pack with manga editing fonts. Can someone help me?

>What do you wish got picked up?
Yuukoku no Moriarty, written by All you Need is Kill manga adaptation writer & drawn by Psycho Pass manga adaptation artist
>>
>>145585962
Who told you?
>>
>>145587587
The first chapter was honestly pretty bad.
>>
>>145587712
well, this is disheartening
can you explain what you did not like
>>
>>145587917
The plot isn't anything more than "rich people are evil, let's kill them" and making the MC Moriarty just gives the writer an excuse to have him be smarter than everyone.
>>
>>145586538
I remember scanning a few chapters of that ages ago. It's a pretty big pain to translate and redraw, I doubt anyone's going to pick it up.
>>
>>145582124
I'm retarded, how do I apply the coupon? I don't see any option to do it in my cart.

Doing volume 34 atm.
Will do volume 1 after.

I've been translating Osananajimi wa Onnanoko ni Naare. I took over from an inactive translator and think I'm doing pretty well for my first scanlation. I even did a lot of redrawing so I can do text effects.

Anyone like this series? It's pretty /a/ friendly.
>>
>>145591796
Where do you upload this?
>>
>>145592328
Is it hard to learn redrawing? I want to try scanlating for the first time too.
>>
>>145592415
I'll post a thread here, on goddess, batoto, mu and on a dedicated site for future releases.

I have just finished scanning v34, so I need to edit it before release.
>>
>>145592596
Any further suggestion on where I should upload it once finished?
>>
>>145592472
I was pretty good with Photoshop before doing this. A lot of this is using content aware fill though. Lookup videos of that it works like magic! Often times I can use the magic wand tool... Expand the selection a few pixels... Then content aware fill and done. For more complex stuff i paint over with white... then repair things with the stamp tool or pattern stamp tool. Usually I have to redraw lines with a brush and then use stamp on darken blending to fill texture around edges and stamp on normal to fill away from edges.

But yeah once you learn the types of geometry content aware fill can handle things really fast.

Guys where do I upload doujinshi raws besides sadpanda?
I figured Haruka would do but they don't have that many doujinshi so I'm not sure if it's frowned uppon or something. Everybody there is so pissy, I don't want to make them upset.
>>
>>145578716
Bought digital doujinshi at toranoara,d does any anon willing to check it out how to rip from there yet?
>>
>>145592975
How did you buy it? Did you use a proxy or just a fake address and a regular card?
>>
>>145590972
Go to checkout and there should be a big button.
>>
>>145593586
Fake address and credits card work fine.
They only give you online reader thought
>>
>>145582124
I'm too lazy to create multiple accounts so I ended up buying the books instead. Sometimes I hate myself.
>>
>>145593743
Nice, got to try it out later.
Did you try OMD or chink script with the online reader?
>>
>>145593644
I only see a "use coupon" option on the page where it asks me for payment information. Says I can choose the coupon in the next step. Is that how it works?
>>
>>145594040
Nope,it doesn't work
>>
I ripped from Rakuten and have an epub file, what do I do with that?

>What do you wish got picked up?
Sarusuberi. Thought the movie might drive enough interest to get it picked up, but apparently not.
>>
>>145597775
Rename it to zip, then open it like normal. An epub is literally just a zip file.
>>
>>145597920
The movie was boring. What do you like about that story?
>>
Anyone know how to rip Viz? To get proper size, the only way I've figured out is through inspect element and that's each page by itself you have to save.
>>
>>145598106
I'm pretty sure someone made a tool for ripping Viz. Unfortunately, I am not interested in it, I don't have it. Search on the archives.
>>
>>145598491

Thanks anon, I'll try.
>>
>>145594461
I just pick use points so it doesn't ask me for a credit card, then tell it to use the coupon on the next screen.
