No, that's literally PEMDAS
If you interpret it as a fraction, you multiply the denominator by (2 * 2) and get 20 over 20 which simplifies to 1

Or you simplify 20 over 5 firsthand and then multiply by (2 * 2)

This is also identical to arguing whether or not to multiply or divide first with PEMDAS

The thing is that we don't know which unit is used, so it is unsolvable.
If celcius or farhenheit the only way it makes sense is we have to go in kelvin and then divide by two, if kelvin, it can't be colder than 0.

The only way to solve this I see is assuming that AB and ED are parallels, which would make alpha = 70 But they probably aren't, so i'm stuck.
to be sure I should draw that shit with actual values but I don't have what's needed.
>>
>>145564626
Told you my brain shorted out by just trying to figure it out. Give me 10 more minutes.
>>
>>145564218
Fairly certain there's not enough info to solve this one. Into to calculate alpha (angle AED), you'd have to know the value of the angle opposite it (BDE, or beta). But you can't calculate beta without knowing alpha. Even knowing that the intersection of BD and AE is 50/130 doesn't help.

You probably COULD use trig to figure it out, but there's no way with just elementary geometry.

Left is subject to the weight of the ping-pong ball in air. Let's put it in perspective: if the ping-pong ball was filled with helium, it would actually pull the scale UPWARD since the scale has air all around it. If it's filled with air, it would only push downward by the weight of its shell.

Right is subject to a force equal to the weight of the water pushed by the iron ball. If you try pulling a rock in water with a rope, you'll notice that it's lighter (exactly lighter as the weight equivalent to its volume in water). The difference in force is applied to the water downward, and as such, to the scale.

Basically, unless the ping-pong ball is heavier than an equivalent volume of water (I.E. unless the ping pong ball would also sink like the steel ball if suspended with a string) the scale will go up to the left, and down to the right.

By the way, if you suspended a ball of steel and a ball of lead (which is heavier than steel) on both sides, each would only apply to the water a downward force equal to their volume in water, so neither side would move.

If you bisect the center triangle exactly in half using a straight line, thus creating a 90 degree angle, does the upper angle (50 degrees) not also get dividing by two, giving two right triangles, each with two angles now revealed to us, those being 25 degrees and 90 degrees, thus giving us the final angle (a) which should be 65 degrees? What makes no sense about that though is that if a = 65, then the outlines (sides D and E) will not have add up to 180 degrees because, using that same information, we can extrapolate the degree of the missing angles leading us to a line that supposedly has 175 degrees which is obviously false.
>>
>>145565299
It's not possible without more information.
>>
>>145565299
Nope, doesn't work. While ABE and BAD are both 80 degrees and thus bisecting BCA would create two perfect halves, the segments AE and BD don't intersect right at that bisection. AE is angled slightly more away from the AB line than BD is, meaning their intersection would be to the right of a BCA bisection, making said bisection useless.
>>
>>145564218
>>145564816
Pretty sure this guy's right.
Call the midpoint (where AE and BD meet) F, I guess.
180-70-60 means BFA is 50, and thus EFD is 50, and BFE and DFA are both 130.
For triangle ABC, 180-60-20-70-10 (subtracting angles A and B) means C is 20.
For triangle BFE, 180-20-130 means BEA is 30, which means AEC is 150.
For triangle AFD, 180-10-130 makes ADF 40, which makes BDC 140.
For triangle EFD, 180-50 means that alpha and BDE combined are 130.
For triangle CDE, 180-20 (C) means that EDC and DEC combined are 160.
So we have the system of equations
Alpha+BDE=130
Alpha+DEC=150
BDE+EDC=140
EDC+DEC=160
Alpha=160-EDC=160-(140-BDE)=160-(140-(130-Alpha))=150-Alpha
2Alpha=150
Alpha=75

Say there are 18 sacks filled with gold coins. Each sack contains the same amount of coins as all the other sacks. However, one of these sacks contains coins that have lesser weight compared to the coins in the other sacks. How many times do you have to weight to find the sack containing lighter coins?
