I don't think there's an outright 'best' Gundam series but my personal favorite is Char's Counterattack, but that's by no means a starting point.

If you plan on getting into Gundam just watch it in production order, with the exception of Turn A which I'd recommend watching after finishing everything else.

I thought season 2 was more exciting to watch than s1 just because the battles were more tactical and full of overpowered tech on both sides, as well as UNDERSTANDING which goes quite well with the war theme. Plus, the mixture between CB, A-LAWS, and Katharon's plotlines is well-done for the most part.

The movie, however, was a hit-or-miss to me, even if I still love 00 afterwords.

My problem with Unicorn was just how far they pushed Laplace's box. Like by the end of episode 2, I had lost all interest in the box because they would not stop throwing the name around. Also characters are kind of a big deal for me, Marida and Bright were not enough. Full Frontal was disappointing, so I found the boss fight very disengaging.

I thought the whole point about Full Frontal was that he's disappointing. He isn't Char - Char is an ideologue, while Full Frontal is basically a politician. Unicorn was about Banagher and Mineva trying to avoid difficult compromises and bring about an ideal solution.

The box was shit, but I'm not sure if they could have done much with it to begin with. Maybe make it some sort of new psycho-Gundam with even greater powers?

Ehh, it's fine to say Full Frontal was meant to be a politician and contrast with other, cooler characters. But I don't think it's fine to say he was meant to be disappointing. To be the most overt Char clone yet, featuring in the cap ontop of the cap that was CCA, he had a pedigree to live up to. Maybe just playing the politician in (what I found to be) the least politically interesting UC series meant Full Frontal was doomed to disappoint. But he could have presented better.

Also a small note, not really a criticism. I really wish Bright had just seized control of the laser, or at least put his life on the line for it. You've rebelled before with the AEUG, why not just do it again?

Battle Fighters. I ain't even baiting, BF just got everything so right. Everybody got their own woman, the fights were hype as shit, the drama wasn't too forced since people don't die and Ramba Ral is the coolest character in Gundam. Try to prove me wrong. Try was shit.
